We also have a Family Engagement team. We had a parent reopening committee and a regular parents group.
But part of our issue is it is always the SAME parents. We need better representation of our parents overall. We added a parent seat to our trustees last year (along with a teacher seat). We send out surveys. We get about 50-60% participation in the last one about reopening.
It is rough. We held two decently attended Zoom town halls last month and found these led to some increased engagement. We condensed our family communication into one weekly email on Fridays - made it more short and sweet with links about the various topics families can click on to read more about them. But it is still very, very rough.

If your school has really good parent engagement, I would love to hear what your school does to foster and encourage this. In our district, parents have continually asked for more/better communication, yet they also say there is "too much" and they check out, stop reading emails, etc. Was on the School Health Index meeting this morning to discuss Family Engagement and curious what your schools are doing. We even have "Family Engagement Teams" and it doesn't seem to be helping.
