Palomar Health New Grad Residency Feb 2024

Nurses Residency

Published

Starting this thread for the Winter 2024 cohort at Palomar Health. Applications open 11/22 with a start date of 2/24. Their website says they post individual unit openings, but close them if they get high volume - so apply early.

For an interview? If yes, congratulations! Wow... 1 single opening for all those units. That's not a lot of positions at all.

No interview, I had just reached out with a few questions. And yes that isn't a lot of positions, pretty disappointing to hear.

Hey has anyone heard back yet? Im confused because on of my applications says in process and the other just says new.

I saw they have taken all postings down now. Online its says applicant reviews/interviews are in January. My apps both still say New.

Has your status changed at all? One of mine says "closed." I'm assuming that means I didn't get it.

Mine both still say "New". What unit did you apply to that says "Closed" ? I heard from a facebook group some people heard back from ICU about interviews.

Neuro Acute- Day shift. I'm an out-of-state applicant, so I figured I didn't have the highest chance. I also applied to ICU (without ICU preceptorship experience) and I haven't heard back at all. Mine still says "in process" ?‍♀️

With that said, I think if it still says "New" it's a good sign!

Goodness... San Diego is difficult. ? I guess SD is not suffering from a nursing shortage.

A number of positions have been given to interns already. Hopefully "new" status is still a good sign.

And yes San Diego is one of the harder markets in California to get a new grad job.

I applied to both EDs Poway and Escondido I cant tell on my application which one is for which location, but one of my ED ones status changed to "in process". Anyone else change?

I applied to the Poway ED, and it still says New.

Does anyone remember how much the pay range was on the posting? I'm just comparing with UCSD, Scripps, other nearby hospitals and didn't catch the range for Palomar's residency

Starts at $47/hr they didn't post the differential. Scripps just increased their hourly rate from the Jan cohort to March. Palomar/Rady's has the lowest, followed by Kaiser, then Sharp, UCSD, Scripps.

I noticed they posted a couple more positions.
