quick question about travel nursing...i've met a few and am a current student (debating between nursing and RAD tech) and i heard that as a travel nurse, you get paid more than perm staff nurses? is that correct? i heard that was true in one place and am not sure if it's just because of the area there or if that's a standard across the US...thanks! ~amanda

Let me try to break it down on a simpler level so that you may understand.

As I said before, you are entitled to your opinions. But you should be aware that they are just that---opinions. Clearly, you prefer to argue only about what you think you know instead of looking objectively at all the facts, and to take such a position makes any discussion redundant. Perhaps it makes you feel better about yourself to berate others with sarcastic and insulting remarks. However, I choose to neither endorse nor participate in such behavior because it would detract from my intelligence and professionalism, and it is also is of no value to people who are seeking legitimate information here.

My reason for commenting in this thread was not to argue with you. It was to pass on information I had received from tax experts whom I have dealt with in the past and to encourage others who may not be very familiar with the tax rules to speak to a TAX EXPERT about their specific case so they may avoid problems with the IRS later on.

I look forward to hearing your answer!

Thanks, but I choose not to continue this discussion. If its important for you to have the last word in defense of your ideas and opinions---its yours.

Nice cop out bud. You missed your calling, you should have been a politician the way you dodged that question.

UHHH, it's not a dodge or a cop out. It is called maturity and manners.

You have your opinion, we have ours. We prefer real money to income on paper. We have politely explained this to you. And indicated that we feel no need to argue. You do not have to like them.

You are the one, however, insistant on arguing the point.

I regret that you are not considerate of others preferences in life and work. But if you want people to respect your opinion and listen, you have to show the same to others.

And to mudsling "cop out" and "dodge" just because someone refuses to argue uselessly with you- that is very rude. The comments are more reminscent of an elementary school gym locker room than of professional discourse.

We have told you our opinion and you have given yours - thus the conversation is completed. And when something is complete, it is best to move on rather than beat a dead horse.

Wrong. In trying to understand nurseguy's flawed logic I asked a straight forward question that he refused to answer. You both can call it something else but when it comes right down to it he refused to answer me because it would show that he was wrong and I am right.

Regardless of whether I pay taxes or not on my housing stipend, I still make a lot more money than when I was permanent staff. That's just my situation. Some staff nurses won't make more because they already make a lot. I wasn't one of them.
