Hi everyone, decided to start a thread for the Fall 2021 cohort since one wasn’t created yet. (Super early, I know LOL) I was accepted for Fall 2020 but decided to defer. Would love to connect with those who’ve applied/been accepted.

No, still in review. From what I know I think once accepted the student has 2 weeks to put a deposit down. So I am hoping as students decide not to put down their deposit they will end up on our applications! But It could be wishful thinking because it looks like really competitive applicants are already on the waitlist

I agree I think we should probably know by end of the month on what are chances are. Like you said a lot of competitive applications are on the waitlist that applied after me. I thought they reviewed applications in the order they received but I guess not. Probably best to apply a place that does does come first serve on a holistic basis. Thank god NYU is still open and they don’t charge an application fee.

Ha! That wishful thinking is not bad at all, I will think the same way from now on. I had not thought of it that way, however the waiitlisted part has me over thinking about the process. I applied Jan. 15th. Who knows how the whole process works. There must a a procedure that we have no idea about, as like admission counselor pooling their best candidates and then bringing all candidates together and decision making between all faculty. Aagghh I have no idea!!

Right, which makes me think more about a rejection, but then thinking about what T1234 said about accepted students having to put down their deposit within a time frame, makes me think that perhaps we still have a chance at being waitlisted.
I think there are a couple of graduate admission evaluators who get a certain amount of applications to review, I then think they weed out (sounds mean, sorry) and pool to what they think are their best candidates and go accordingly. So, maybe get 20 applications each, and either accept, wait for deposit, waitlist, and ultimately reject?

I am holding out hope! I don't want to count us out yet.

Me too and I am always refreshing! Every time I refresh I am willing an acceptance LOL

I applied to Mercy and NYU.. I am not sure who I think I am ?!! I just know my own heart and I know I want this, but because NYU is dead until April I don't ever even look at the forums or my checklist, and Mercy, I don't even have an idea about their procedure. I might just go for my masters in public health if I don’t get in. How about you? Did you apply elsewhere?
