Pace University or New York University (NYU) ABSN

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello,

I recently got into Pace's accelerated 11 month ABSN program and NYU's 15 month ABSN program. I am conflicted on which to choose cause each has its pros and cons. I also have to consider the amount of money I may need to borrow. Pace is in the shortest program and costs approximately 30k cheaper than NYU. I can't find much information online regarding feedback from prior students. NYU however is a very prestigious school and will cost more. Is it worth going to NYU to help me down the line for job offers? I am hoping someone can give me more feedback on these two programs and which one would be more practical to go to. All your opinions and feedback would be really helpful. Thank you!

A lot depends on. where you live and the commute.  I don't think that whre you go to school is as important as to what your experience is.  I find 11 months to be scarily short.  But the financial savings of not having to live in Manhattan plus the extra tuition is a significant burden.  I attended a MSN program at Pace Westchester and it's easy to get in and out for classes.  The medical center in Valhalla will offer you the same case mix as NYU.  I hope this is helpful.  After I decided not to pursue  MSN/MBA I ended up finishing at Columbia which was very exciting but I rented a sofa for 2 years and it was affordable but not comfortable:)  The instruction was excellent and personalized so, looking through the retroscope, it was worth the loans to me.
