Lots of nursing union activity in Southeast PA!
Another victory for PASNAP-- union tried to organize Hahnemann in 2010 with support of California Nurses Assoc. but rebuffed.
I have great memories of workng their Respiratory ICU in 1982 --learned tons caring for vent dependent patient.
1/21/2016:
Hahnemann nurses vote to join union
The Center City Philadelphia's registered nurses voted 516 to 117 to join the Pennsylvania Association of Staff Nurses and Allied Professionals.
Nurses at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in North Phillly (also owned by Tenet) are in the process of voting on whether to be represented by PASNAP.

I hope the newly unionized PASNAP nurses achieve a fair contract and that their concerns are addressed.

I know several classmates I graduated with who voted YES.
I believe there is a shift in the wind...

What hospitals don't realize is that this is what happens when there is constant short staffing. Hospitals don't want the unions telling them how to staff their floors but this is the next best thing to mandatory nurse-patient ratios. Please remember nurses rally in Washington, D.C. on May 12, 2016 for national mandatory nurse-patient ratios. Please spread the word and try to attend. #nursesunite #NursesTakeDC

My hospital has a union and we are constantly short staffed. There are a lot of issues with my union that need to be addressed and I am part of a group of people that are doing it.
I will look into the rally. I didn't even know about it!!! Thanks!!!
