Hello all, I can't find the answer for this over google so I'm asking fellow nurses.... I just had a misdemeanor charged on my record of disorderly conduct, and I'm trying to figure out if I have to report this to the Dept of Nursing for PA? And, if I do have to report it, how do I do that? Thanks for any help. cheers.

you should contact the pa bon and find out if it needs to be reported and if so, what the reporting process entails. i think that you will run into trouble when you go to renew your license otherwise. honesty is always the best policy. if you don't need to report it-they will tell you and if you do then you are doing what needs to be done-especially before your license renewal comes up. part of being a great nurse is being pro-active. it always looks better if you self report it than if it gets "found out."
here's the contact info for the state board:

good luck!

honesty is the best policy.. they will find out if you don't tell them .. it's better to tell them first , then not saying anything and them finding it.. it will be trouble that way.... being a nurse is about honesty....

I believe they ask if you have had any felonies. But it never hurts to check.
