PA BON Requirements

I am an out of state nursing student in IL and wish to apply to PA nursing board to take the NCLEX in PA. PA requires fingerprinting for out of state students, but I cannot find the service code for IdentoGo to use. I tried contacting the BON for help, but no one has gotten back with me. Does anyone know what service code should be used so that my fingerprint cards will go to the PA state nursing board?

I think that’s what happened to me! I submitted transcript back in May, and it was still pending. I randomly decided to try and resubmit it through my university this past Aug 2, then I got my ATT on Aug 4. I’m not sure if my receiving the ATT is related to the resubmitting Of my transcripts.. but something worked! I then tested on the first available date which happened to be yesterday!

Does anyone know what kind of FBI background check PA BON expects us to upload to their PALS system? I found the one on Identogo but since it stipulates that it is not for "license renewals" , can we still use it? The PA BON is incredibly unresponsive and the criteria for transferring nursing license from out of state is vague. It does not mention how we do the FBI background check, just that it needs to be uploaded. If anyone could shed any light it would be greatly appreciated!

I got my fbi check done through the usps post office . I went to the official government website and said I wanted a check done with results emailed and sent to myself . I then uploaded the electronic results after I was fingerprinted at the post office . Not all post offices offer the checks , so I would look that up before you sign up.

Thanks, that is more helpful than what I have gotten from their website. Do you happen to know if the PA BON accepts electronic transcripts? My school is not offering mail in transcripts due to Covid and the PA BON has not responded to any of my inquiries.

Yes the accept electronic ones! I requested them through my schools website and then used the st-nurse email to the recipient . I am currently waiting for them to add my transcripts to my application and then I should have my ATT.

Hi guys, I know im kinda late to this forum haha, but do you know if I need to send a Nursing Education Verification form if I am out of state? The instuctions on the application for the out of state graduate says only the official but im confused.

Yes you need to send the form to the ST-nurse email . Make sure your school fills the form out or they won’t accept it.
