Pa Board of Nursing--Transcripts

I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on their experiences with the PA Board of Nursing. I am currently in the process of registering to take the NCLEX, and am getting very frustrated at how long it is taking to process my transcripts. I have friends in other states who got their transcripts processed and received their ATT within 24 hours of them being sent. The board is also nearly impossible to get a hold of and are not very helpful if you do get to speak with them.

Has anyone had any luck with speaking to someone who can expedite the process of transcripts? Or is anyone in a similar situation?

I've been waiting for my RN license since 4/3/18 and am beyond frustrated. So tired of 2+ hours of wait time on the phone and abrupt hangups and transfers before I get a chance to actually even ask my question. They needed a letter from my school to verify my education and I was told it can take 4 weeks just to process one piece of mail and have it uploaded to my application. Are you serious?!?

I live in Massachusetts but am seriously thinking about driving to Harrisburg. Do you think that would help at all?

if anyone is from PA but is working/applying for jobs in other states I would highly recommend applying for your license in another state. I gave up on PA after hearing it might take weeks to months to even be declared eligible. I applied to NY last Friday and got my ATT today, and could have gotten it earlier if I had called earlier. crazy how some other states have such a better handle on things than PA does

I'm going on Monday . How did you go about asking ? Do you just say you need an update on your status and have been waiting since May?

When you went there how did you go about asking ? Did you just explain everything and they helped you?

Yes, i just told them i was waiting for over 3 weeks and to make sure they had all of my paperwork.

Just to post - I have been watching this forum for a couple of weeks. Just to let everyone know I did drive to the BON today and I got my ATT 30 minutes after I left. I basically just went in and said this is my situation, I have been waiting for 7 weeks and I need it by July 16th to stay in my Residency program.

Yes I got temporary permit and ATT that very day. They weren't very nice but I also didn't leave until I got some answers . Got everything I needed by 3pm

I've been following this for a few weeks and have gone to the BON twice with nothing. My electronic transcripts were received and download on June 4th and still haven't been uploaded to my file. I feel like I'm asking the wrong questions since I can't get any answers from anyone and they won't let me speak to anyone except for a rude evaluator who "doesn't know" anything. Can people who went to the BON tell me what they said to get answers? Were your transcripts already in your file?

Yes all the BON had to do was look for my transcript on a list since i went to school in PA it is all done electronically through a system. They were just taking forever doing it... they had all of my paperwork uploaded into the system they just did not review it until I went there in person and asked them to.

I went but my transcripts had not been uploaded into the system when I went. My transcript "arrival" date online said may 24th - so that was like a 7 week wait. I basically said exactly this "I have been waiting 7 weeks, I could lose my spot in a residency if I don't get my TPP by July 16th" and then they were uploaded 30 minutes after that.

I told them I wasn't leaving until they give me answers. Or I'll just return the next day again for the same thing and then by 3 pm I had everything
