Ok...i am not a nurse YET.
I have been researching ADN programs and to say I am overwhelemed is an UNDERSTATEMENT!
Part of me just wants to go for LPN and leave it at that. (maybe take online classes in future)
I have been finding out there is a difference in nurse mobility programs.
Some require you to be a full fledged LPN before you apply.
Others you just continue classes.
Any advice or info ?

It can be harder to get an acute care facility position as an LVN.

anything is overwhelming if you look at the whole process at once! just take it one step at a time! it's easier that way.

I was in a meeting yesterday and our Chief nursing officer said that she has started filling LVN positions with RNs. Acuity is rising as the population gets older and RNs are overwhelmed with doing LVN assessments and IVs. Lots of great LVNs but they are being phased out of acute care. Do the RN, baby steps...one day turns into 2, turns into a month and before you know it, you are done. 2-3 years is going to pass anyway, may as well be an RN at the end of it.
