Hello! So this week has been awful! Last week, i failed my second tests of fundamentals and assessment! This week, I failed my med administration check off! Today, I talked to my professors! My assessment professor doesn't think I want to do nursing and doesn't think i will pass her class! My fundamentals professor didn't give me any advice! She only said, "you need to pull up your grades"! Like i don't freaking know that! She doesn't have any faith in me at all! I literally scuffled out there before I broke down! I barley have enough time to study and read my books! Its class Tuesday and Thursday! Clinicals on monday and wednesday! It takes me 2 hours to read one chapter! Im overwhelmed! Also, our school has the classes prereqs of each, so if you drop one class, you have to drop all of them! They also have a 3 unsastifactory = failing a course/clinical! I feel like they want people to fail!

Well break it down---why did you fail the test? What did you get wrong?
And perhaps more importantly, why did you fail the med pass? It's not a tough task so I'm sure you could pass it if you are able to retest. Did you just forget to do something when testing?
The reality is that fundamentals is by far the easiest nursing class you will take, but that's okay. If you want to be a nurse, then keep trying to be one until they drag you out kicking and screaming! Sometimes people just don't have anything nice to say!

Buck up! No one promised you that nursing school would be a tea party. You are learning to hold people's LIVES in your hands! They are not just going to let you skate by. Learn the material or change majors to something where a simple mistake will not kill somebody.

Well, how are you studying now? Because something is not working.
On a side note, I felt like I was getting yelled at the whole time I was reading your post. There are so many exclamation points !!!!!!

Not once in your post did you say "I want to be a nurse."
That's okay. Maybe now isn't your time, or maybe nursing school isn't what you thought it was going to be. It's not easy. Be honest with yourself about why you're in the program. Think it's not for you? Cut your losses now and drop. Really want to be a nurse? Then you'll have to figure out what you need to do. I hope you figure out what is best for you. Good luck!

I personally like exclamation points but that is off topic!!!
How much are you studying per week? Are you working too much? I would try to identify the road blocks that are keeping you from studying. Have you asked other students in your class to start a study group? Have you looked into the tutoring center on campus to see if they offer 1-on-1 tutoring for free or low cost? Or drop in hours?
Take a deep breath and start trying to figure out what is going on. Keep at it though - don't give up if this is truly where you want to be!

Just one small piece of advice. Play nice. Ask nicely. I get you are frustrated but allnurses did not give you the bad grade.
My first semester I was often like why is this so hard , why are they so mean?! But than I realized if I want to be a nurse and survive nursing school I would have to learn to how to for help nicely.
But as how to study I recommend do a ton of nclex style questions. Nursing school is not about facts but about application.
Obviously. I see how much you want it from your post, I must have read too much into it. Good luck on your med pass remediation! I'm sure you've got this.

I found a website that has a lot of nclex questions so I will do that before the test.
