Out of State License

Published

Hello

I am currently a Kentucky Resident and attend nursing school in Kentucky. I am planning to move with my fiance to Missouri (Compact state with Kentucky). Should I attempt to get my license in Kentucky and then apply for endorsement through Missouri? Or should I wait until I am a legal Missouri resident before I apply for a license? P.S. We are moving the day after I graduate with my ASN-RN.

graduating may 8 and moving to MO may 11.

So you already have an address?

I do not have an address, my fiance starts work that day so we will be moving about a week beforehand. I used the 11th as a reference date.

But it does sound as if you will have an address prior to graduation..

Wow! One crazy back & forth for you.

However it works out for you, good luck.

In my opinion, and what I would do, the best option would be to apply for licensure in KY as this start the process. If the OP happens to get authorization to test, and can schedule a test date prior to establishing residency in MO he or she can test and when they receive their KY license can work on that license while the MO application is processed.

On the other hand, if he or she can establish residency in MO prior to testing, there is an option to change which state the results are sent to.
