I sent my application into OLOL (Camden) and I was wondering if anyone has attended this program in the past few years? I havent really found anything on the internet about this school and I was wondering if it is a good program or not. I have read that it was good 30 years ago... but how about now? I wanted to start Jan. 2012 but they already picked for that start date so I have my application in for August 2012. As of now that is my 1st choice in schools unless I hear that it's not a great program. I am very nervous about Nursing School to start with so it is important for me to hear about the program.
I think I retained some, but it was impossible. The teacher I had was more for people who are science majors. I wish my school offered like a more basic chemistry course for people that just need to know the basics. Nice guy, but his class was extremely hard. He would always say "and those of you who are sticking around for chem 2".... lol. Half of us were pre-nursing majors...haha we're like nooooo thanks for chem 2!
micro isn't too bad! I have a good teacher for it, she makes it interesting! I have my first test today.
Actually, today I made the decision to drop chem and retake it in the fall...I'm taking A&P right now and chem is a little overwhelming for me...i don't think a 5 week summer course was the best choice...im hoping that doesn't mess my chances up for being accepted fall 2012 though, since that will be the only pre req I will need after the summer is over. I wish their "conditional acceptance" was a little clearer in terms of who they are refering to.
I know that I am going to be 1 science short for the August start. (They told me that they already picked their class for the January start, but if a position opened and I was done everything then maybe... but there was already 8 people that applied before me). But anyway... I need microbiology. I am taking that in the fall and I think that I wont get in. That is the impression that I got. I needed to be done that this summer. But I am taking A&P II currently and couldnt find a class that was available to do it this summer.
i took A&P I and II and chem together this spring. chem was a regular 15 week course and the A&P classes were 7 week accelerated, so I can only imagine 5 weeks with A&P AND chem. I think that's a good decision to wait for the fall. chem is tough.
rach1981, are you close to Gloucester County College? They might have a summer II micro class.. Even if it's full a lot of people drop before it starts.

I know that it's harder if you only have an RN. I plan on going to get my BSN. After talking to the admissions people there it sounds like they employ their students first, so we'll see. But like I said I'm going to go the BSN route after I get my RN.
