Our Lady of Lourdes Nursing Program (Camden)

U.S.A. New Jersey

Published

I sent my application into OLOL (Camden) and I was wondering if anyone has attended this program in the past few years? I havent really found anything on the internet about this school and I was wondering if it is a good program or not. I have read that it was good 30 years ago... but how about now? I wanted to start Jan. 2012 but they already picked for that start date so I have my application in for August 2012. As of now that is my 1st choice in schools unless I hear that it's not a great program. I am very nervous about Nursing School to start with so it is important for me to hear about the program.

thanks! pretty excited it was a long processs!!!!!!

Congratulations! I got an email from them today saying it was looking like Spring 2013 for me :-( I am in A&P 1 right now, A&P II in 2 weeks, then Chem and Micro in the fall. They must have filled up the Fall 2012 class with the transcripts that came in at the end of the spring semester :-(

I'm a little disappointed, but you trudge forward....

Im a little bit confused. We are in the year 2011. For the Sept class start it will be Fall 2011... right? Then for the Spring class that will be Spring 2012. I applied for the 2012 start and I didnt plan on hearing anything from OLOL for months.

Hey, I got a similiar e-mail today...a little disappointed, but ya know what, its only 6 months....and not only that, if they implement the changes they were talking about making (going straight through summer), we will graduate approximatly the same time we would have had we been accepted to fall 2012 w/out the school making changes....lol hope that didnt sound too confusing....also the blog from a couple days ago referred to people being bumped up...ya never know, that could happen to us too...keep your fingers crossed...

Does anyone have a TEAS V book that I could buy from them???

I already sold mine to one of my friends... but look on Amazon. I heard that you can get it for cheap from there.

Okay. Thanks Rachel. Was the TEAS exam hard??.. Similar to the SAT..HSPA???? Btw are you officially in the OLOL program and if so when will you start?

When I took the TEAS I barely had any science under my belt. Its been 11 years since I was in high school and i didnt remember anything from then. Plus I never had chemistry in my life. I thought that everything was pretty simple and basic except for the science section. I just passed by the skin of my teeth with a 63 (or something like that). I have been thinking about taking it again now that I have had chemistry and a&p I, but I need to find the time to study for it over this summer. I am currently taking a&p II and that is taking up so much of my time.

I have not been accepted into OLOL... I do dream of it though. haha. I applied for the Spring 2012 class but I dont have all my pre-req done. Once I am done my summer 1 session, I still need Micro. I am taking that in the fall. I am also taking Nutrition... even though it is not a pre-req.

Some people on here have said that they rcvd letters or something about not getting in and having to wait until 2013, but I have yet to get that... so no new is good news.

I never took either the HESI or SAT's. I cant compare... but I do know that everything that is on the TEAS is supposed to be something that you learned in high school or lower. Like I said before... it was pretty simple except for the science sections. I think that if I had the time to take it again (with study time for a few weeks), then I think I could get my score up into the upper 70's lower 80's. Science was the only section I scored poorly on.

have you taken the teas v yet? i recommend taking the practice test they offer. it is identical to the test you will take... same type of questions and set up. if you get a question wrong the practice test tells you why it is wrong and why the right answer is right.

The science was fairly difficult... definitely harder than a normal high school course, but then again its been a while since high school for me too! the reading and math part was easy. I didn't do as great in the last section i think it was vocab or something... I was hungry and also had to go to the bathroom. lol

Has anyone seen that ---------------------- is no longer in enrollment at OLOL? I can't help but wonder if this means starting all over - he seemed very hands on, getting to know applicants personally.

I think it will be okay... They seem like everyone has it together. I have yet to hear anything negative about the school so I think that is great..
