The school nurse I relieve in the afternoons had a very close encounter with a paper cutter today. Practically cut her finger off. Those things are evil. I didn't even realize they still had them in schools! Ever have to deal with an injury like that among the staff?

Never an injury like that, but I did have to take a staff member to the ED for what turned out to be a cardiac event.
We have paper cutters at my school - time savers! I haven't seen an injury with them. Now those small carving tools they use in art class? I send at least one kid out a year for stitches because of that.

Yeah - i had one of the art teachers slice the tip of her finger clean off. Thankfully it was all soft tissue, but it still makes my hands tingle when i think of how close she came to losing more.

Honestly I would pass out and they would have to take me to the ED along with the teacher Trauma is definitely NOT my thing, LOL. Obviously I would handle a traumatic emergency if I had to, but the fact that my school has no outdoor playground makes it a lot less likely.
