Wondering if I have appendicitis brewing. The pain hasn't been too sudden, it has been apparent over the last 3 or 4 days.
Isn't appendicitis sudden?

No, it doesn't have to be sudden. Have a doc check it out to make sure.

You have Left Right Quadrant Pain?
And Kat is right - it can "brew" for awhile.

I think she meant Right lower quadrant. At least that's why I answered that way.
I know - just kidding . . . probably shouldn't have since we are dealing with an allnurses pal in pain.
Sorry!

I was confused when I first saw it too. I thought maybe I'd been away from the bedside too long, lol.
Yes Yes! That's what I meant. Sorry.
I have been sleeping with a heating pad for a few nights. Earlier this week I had lots of generalized GI pain, with, uummm, gas (my poor co-workers!) and major bloating (still bloated). If I lay down and press on the area, the pain gets worse and actually kinda seems to hurt in my belly button.
I haven't really had any other symtoms. Also, in appendicitis, can the pain be felt in the back? Like the same RLQ, but posteriorly?

I had LRQ pain for about a week before I went to the doctor, it wasn't the appendix though, I had endometriosis growing crazy. Any of those s\s? Good luck and let us know.

Please see a doctor as soon as possible.
Hopefully you are ok. No medical advice can be given here. Thank you for understanding, and again, best wishes.
