Hi guys! Interviews started today for the May 2011 cohort, and I think I was one of the first few to interview. I know we can't talk about specific questions that were asked during the interview, but I just wanted to see if anyone would like to share their reactions/experience here.
I personally felt pretty good, I did get one "I love your answer!" so that made me feel a little more secure:D since I felt like I stumbled on this one other question. I did feel a little rushed since they told me the interview would be super short right in the beginning (did anyone else feel that way?) I didn't get a clear answer on where we will be having clinicals/classes though....
I'm sure it will be another month after interviews end until we all get mailed acceptance letters.
Any thoughts you would like to share?.....
Hi, on the thread I was part of(January 2011) a number of people got rejection letters before some of us got our acceptance letters. I started seeing a few people post that they got rejections and I started fearing the worst for my situation. My best advice is to not read into anything yet!! I know how hard it is because I was going crazy myself. My letter was dated March 31st but it didn't come until three days later. Please don't worry - I think they send them out in bunches and if you felt good about your interview, you will likely get good news. Also, the envelope is standard size so don't think since it's small that this means rejection. Its a nice letter and your plan of study - that's it. Best wishes and I hope I helped a few of you.
Oh, Thank you so much ejcl68! Your words of encouragement are very helpful!!! I appreciate you taking the time to ease our anxiety a little. Unfortunately, I didn't feel very good about my interview. Nothing negative was said, but it was so rushed. I only had 15 minutes with one person and I am afraid it was not enough time. Thanks again!
Hey everyone,
This is just driving me crazy. I know all of you who are still waiting are in the same boat. I really hope a letter arrives tomorrow. I can't think of anything else. I am counting down still I see my mail lady again. Ugh. Ok, I digress, I just had to say this to other people who understand. What are you guys doing to pass the time?
I totally understand! I am feeling obsessed with this! I honestly wonder if they are sending out letters in batches because it has been several days and I know my mail usually arrives within a day or two from Rochester. I am not too far away. Anyway, I am studying for my microbiology final and plan to head up north for a few days with my kids. I am not sure if it will be good or bad to be away from my mailbox though, haha! Please keep me posted and hang in there. Do you have any experience in the nursing/medical field?
I am so obsessed with this too. It is just consuming my thoughts. Ugh.
Yes, I have quite a bit of experience in the medical field. I volunteered in a hospital for 11 years. I've applied to all of the 2nd degree programs in this area with the exception of Wayne State. I haven't been accepted to any of them. Oakland is my last hope. I was on the alternate list for EMU, but recently received a letter stating that they could not offer me a spot for this year. My GPA is pretty good (3.8). I have asked for feedback from all of the programs that have rejected me because I just don't know what I am doing wrong. However, no one will give me feedback. I am feeling defeated. I think you will have a blast up north. Maybe that will help to let you relax and temporarily forget about this waiting game. I just wish the letter would get here. I am not expecting good news since I didn't get in anywhere else. This is the last attempt at getting in for me. If I get another rejection letter, I am going to take the hint and move on to something else. I've been applying for 3 years almost (although this is my first time applying at Oakland University). I don't know what is taking so long either. I've thought maybe they were really doing batches too because I don't live that far from Rochester either. I am still in Oakland County. The only thing that makes me question the batch idea is that AdamsMaMi interviewed on the same day as me and I haven't received anything.
