Just curious, or wondering if I'm the only one. I've often posted about it, but have yet to see anyone else post from this area. I'm relocating to corona and may have to be job hunting soon (I know, horrible timing). Unfortunately the health insurance through my job is not very good, so I am seeking a job with better benefits. Just curious if anyone else is working out here and what they have to say about their hospital/benefits.

I'm from Moreno Valley, Inland Empire area. I just graduated last month and I am job hunting too...It's extremely hard for new grads here...I'm working part time at a Rehab center while waiting for a real hospital position. Been "rejected" so many times, it's discouraging to even talk about it.
Nice to meet someone else from the IE! Yeah, new grad jobs are hard to find. I was lucky to get a job back in march of last year. Seemed to be the end of the hiring in the IE for new grads. I have a lot of friends who have yet to find their first job.
At least you have found something part time in rehab. I have no advice because I know so many who are job hunting right now. I hope things improve soon though it doesn't appear that things will have a change until next year or later.

Hello IE nurses. Rancho/Inland Valley are part of the same healthcare system, "Southwest Healthcare System" which is under a bigger organization, UHS Inc. So...I'm assuming they function similarly. Rough waters though: http://www.nctimes.com/news/local/murrieta/article_99593172-48cc-11df-9cc4-001cc4c002e0.html
And from the corporate office:

30 miles north is Corona Regional which is also a UHS facility. They are not part of the Southwest Healthcare System, so their operations are slightly different. Corona Regional also employs a rehab facility, Corona Rehab.
There is also the new Loma Linda facility opening off the 215, which is a few miles east of Inland Valley. If you go north on the 215, there is also the Valley Health System facilities: Hemet & Menifee, but Hemet is more east.
If you changed counties, update yourself on the laws regarding nursing practice. I used to work in LA County as a hospice nurse and RNs were allowed to pronounce deceased patients. In Riverside/San Bernardino, there is a different process and I believe they require you to go through training to pronounce.
As for me, I work at Corona Regional Medical Center, basically a small community hospital
Hi Lorazepam! I'll be your neighbor soon!

In the Corona/Inland Empire there's Corona Regional, Kaiser Permanente Riverside, Parkview Community (in Riverside), Riverside Community, Riverside County (in Moreno Valley), Kaiser Permanente Moreno Valley, Loma Linda, St Bernardine's (in San Bernardino), Community Hospital of San Bernardino, Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente Fontana, San Antonio Community (in Upland) and Pomona Valley Medical Center. Riverside Community has great benefits and the pay is on the same scale as Kaiser (who has the highest pay scale in the area). Good luck.
Guess I should have reworded this. I'm actually in the Inland Empire now. I know most of the hospitals in the region, was just looking for actual feedback from nurses on different hospitals they had worked at and liked. I'm currently employed at St. B's, but because of the move to corona, was sort of targeting the close-by hospitals (corona regional, inland valley medical center, which I'm aware of the issues, parkview hospital, kaiser riverside, etc. Guess there isn't that many of us from the IE on here though. I do appreciate the responses I got though! I am hoping to make Corona Regional my new job if I get lucky, though in this economy it could go either way.

i work at ivmc not in the er but did clinicals there it was great loved it there. i precepted in ranch er loved it too! they (rancho) are much smaller right now and still struggling to open their new building so that location is a bit harder to work in, however that said, the people working there were really close knit and helpful to me so i love that unit. ivmc is a trauma center and it sees a lot more action.
cncplus3,
thanks for the information on ivmc and rancho. i am happy to hear that you like both facilities. your feedback is just what i was hoping to hear. i will consider it when making a decision on which facility i will apply to work for.
How does the application process work when applying to Riverside County Medical Center in Moreno Valley? I'd like to get some ED experience and was thinking about applying to Riverside. Does anyone have any thoughts on the facility?

Not quite a RN yet, but I do live in the IE-Hemet to be exact. One of my friends is an LVN at Hemet Hospital but I have no desire to work there after I'm done with school.
