I would like to ask about the screening process in the ospital ng sampaloc for the employment in sta. ana medical center.

Has anyone here undergone the screening process? How was the interview and written exam like?

someone told me that mayor signed about 1000 appointment papers but only 500 items/jobs are available on all loca hospitals. thats were the problem started. city personnel didnt monitor or limit the number of appointments they let mayor sign and prioritize people with backers. now for us who ranked in sta ana we are another issue sinve we should be the one gettingthe jobs. problem is they already given some appointments papers duly signed and cleared

i have names of people who got appointment papers but no promo board yet. these are the people waiting for the ""dissolved item"

and 2 names you can reference once you call city personnel and ask about your status. these two girls got called for an n1 position and will be starting duty august first. just PM me for the names. in which you can search in FB most of them.

these two girls allegedly didnt passed the exam in PLm last Feb. they werent called to have training in ossam. which only means they didnt undergo waht we did. like panle interview in city hall. making them not eligible for the post unless they have backers. they didnt ranked. so they shouldnt raked in the benefits of being a nurse in sta ana.

my batchmate came to city personnel earlier. she was told that no more entry leven position for nurses are available in sta ana. i called city personnel they told me they didnt started calling nurses yet but doctors plang.

a friend texted me. there were a lot of hiring that happened last july 21.

someone said that there were ten items given. the last one for sta ana as said by city personnel.

now the remaining names on the waiting list will be consider for administrative positions. clerk I or II

how can they all be filled up in sta ana? when the plantilla in binondo is around 250 nurses. sta ana is bigger than binondo. and sta ana is a tertiary hospital. unlike binondo.

they said lack of budget thats why only few nurses will be hired in sta ana. but inside sources says every week new staff nurses are added in the hospital. internal hring were made by the hospital director as endorsed or approve by city personnel. coz the hospital director don't want newbies. they want someone with experience as staff in any hospital. not just volunteer trainings.

now what the. whats the use of or volunteer training if they will not credit it as part of our qualifications. and they hired people who didnt even took or passed the qualifying exam. whats the use of the exam and panel interview when it will just fall on the discretion of the hospital director. the hsopital director should be under the city personnel. he shouldnt reject or decline endorsement from the cpo.

the hospital director allegedly talked with mayor that he wants nurses with previous work experience not just volunteer training. but its a newly built hospital. the logic for hiring is that new nurses should get jobs.and its improper to hire nurses after an examination and interview was done that determined the ranks and duly competent nurses to get hired. bypassed by nurses who has previous hospital work exp coz of the discretion of the hospital director.

arent they confident that with their expertise level of experience and years in service thath they can train the newbies to be efficient and as good s those with previous work exp. thats why they hired senior staff to look over us.

everybody started with no experience. they shouldnt let it be an issue.

another thing is there are issues on the appointments. coz most of the people who got it are guys. now they dont want guy nurses there. its overnumbering the girls. now how can that be a problem if the guys scored higher in the exam or did better answers on the interview. talking about gender discrimination.

some of the statement here are not verbatim. its hard to write/translate it in english. so the implied or just the gist of what we are trying to say and what the colonle said is the essence. still this story is 100% factual. it really happened. thats what we felt. heard. and saw.

came to city hall yesterday. we were 6. 3 of us belong to top 100 on the ranking. first we went to mayors office. we were asked by the secretaries there whats our purpose. we told them we like to talk with the new head of personnel. she asked about what. told her regarding sta ana hiring for nurses. we said it would be better if we could get an audience with mayor himself. but they told us to talked with the colonel first. the colonel was talking with mayor thats why shes in the mayors office.

before we went to city personnel we went to 3rd floor where the office of the analyst is. the analyst as we are reffered by city personnel is the only one who knows how many items are left. or how many plantilla position is avalaiable for sta ana. we talekd with her. she asked us why are we asking those questions. we said so that we have right infos when we talk with the colonel at the city personnel office. she said. she can't tell us.

so we went to city personnel. maybe a coincidence but one of mayor's secretary is there talking with the personnel staff. one from our group told us she saw that girl pointing at us while talking to one of the personnel staff. (maybe she's already warning them that we are nurses who wants an audience with mayor that has issues over the hiring process)

now we went to the lady in front of the computer and the guy who answers the telephone. we told them we want to talk with the colonel. they told us its okay if we can wait. they got our names. and as usual checked it on the computer. which will just give them the ranking of 71 75 89 110 150.

first they told us the colonel wants to speak with us individually. but later we went there all 6. 2 from our group already atalked with the colonel earlier. one was someone given appointment papers last may. but still no promo board yet. one was application were noted by mayor for hiring. but not surprisingly the note was lost/taaken of/and God knows what happened. she was only entertained when produced a photocopy. and thus they said her papers are noe forwarded to mayors office for signing. n1 position.

why would you need to ask about the process. we will have 2 weeks just to dicuss the process. it is not your concern about the process. your concern is to be hired. so we checked your profiles. your in the waiting list so thats waht important to you. to know if you made it or not. now if you get hired and you were able to be in the position thats the only time you will know the process. stuffs like that. blah blah blah

(weve been meaning to ask as how come they hired these people. on what basis. how was the selection. what did they considered. who are these people. came from where? did volunteer where? did they even pass the qualifying exam. and panel interview. whats their rank.etc. very important questions all of us are dying to know.)

ok. so you are all in the waiting list. so you just need to wait. as for how long and wehn we will hire you. we dont know. coz sta ana is really filled up.and its just newly open. so not all will he hired. there was a problem from dras hiree. and its the mayor who says who to hire. etc...

someone asked. coz about us. weve been waiting. and whenever we called city personnel they will say the hiring isnt resumed yet. but the truth is many were called and awarded items already(starting july 13 onwards).

it came from you that there was hiring already. So there it is. hiring resumed.

(our point is how come they are telling lies over the telephone call. why theye cant answer our questions truthfully. good thing one of our clever groupmate recorded some calls he made.)

since they cant answer these vital questions properly correctly and truthfully we went personally to city personnel. some of us were already in their provinces helping their parents in the market, farm or attending to their siblings and family's need while waiting to be called upon. we spent bus fare just to straight out things with the new head of personnel since the old one doesnt seem to bother all the queries and hush about their actions.

so we asked about the two girls they hired. even if they didnt passed the exam.earlier on that week one came to the colonel gave her the names of theses girls. asked why they they were given item when in fact they failed the qualifying exam in PLM last feb. the colonel told the girl to continue feeding her infos and tell us thay if we know anomalies happening to talk with the colonel so she can fix it. and do corrective measure. thats why we came there. we even have names of people who was hired in sata ana. through facebook. and we added names we personally know. some our calssmates. some our friends. and most we just met in our volunteer training.

that is the discretion of the mayor.we the personnel offfice just submit/forward the papers. and the mayor decides who he wants to hire.

(thats the only work of the personnel? how come you forwarded applications that is lacking in requirements. someone who failed in the exam yet you forwarded their application. now where the logic in that?)

how about my appointment papers/ it was given last may. im not yet called for promo board. i have a friend. who was called last wee and now their promo board is today. at 2pm.

well you just need to wait. as i said discretion of the mayor. coz papers go through process. clearance. and the batch that was awarded papers last may. they had problems. thats why its on hold.

we asked about the different nurses who came from other hospitals being hired. coz we taught that those who passed the exam went training to ospital ng sampaloc/. most of us. how come tehre are hirees from ospital ng tondo.ospital ng maynila at gat andres. its okay if they passed the exam too. but what if not.or they didnt even took the exam.

the people now are different. hospital director. the ehad of personnel. im just here to continue what was left of the previous head.

(now thats where the problem lies. theres a lot of wrongdoings anomalies happening.and youll just continue it/ you wont even pause and check things if they are going accordingly to mayors wishes. to be fair. truthful. maybe according to plan that will just benefit the undesrving people you back up./\your familuy. friends. co workers family and friends.)

every time we try to ask her about something relevant (of course were heading for our expose) she would just shut us up. with her tone of voice, facial expression.way of talking. and the things she said. she doest want to hear us out. dont want to answer questions and clarify things.

whats wrong in asking about the hiring process. isnt it their work to deliver public informations. to answer when asked. to clear things when theres an issue.to addressed concern

many issues were tried to be asked but thats it. she will just say its not our concern.its the discretion of the mayor. we just need to wait.

even the clerk position. i asked her if we will be automatically considered. or if we need to apply it ourselves to be considered. she didnt had a clear asnwer/.

she asid she didnt say we will be automatically considered but applying ourselve wont be needed. and how come we will know.coz theres still uncertatinty if we will get hired as nurses.

so meaning if we dont get hire as nurses. it just says thats the time we can be clerks. but they are filling up position for both nurses and clerks now. so what will be left for us when they dont know if we can still be hired.

now what shocking is her statement point of view about options. she said;

you shouldnt be just focus on applying in sata ana as nurses. you need to earn while waiting. and dont hope coz we still dont know when we can hire you. you should be applying in other hospitals too. and having options.

I'll comment on that statement.

I went there with my friends in a nurse uniform. TO BE RESPECTED. i taught if i wore civilian clothes they will have the impression im just the usual applicant. fresh grad. commoner.

But no. i came there as a PROFESSIONAL. someone with a bachelors degree. who spent huge amount of money on schooling. passed the BOARD EXAM. therefore passing the CIVIL SERVICE TOO.

She was a colonel form the POLICE. and men in uniform has high respect for their own people. I know. i have a brother who is a policeman. So im expecting a good culture among them.

But NO. with what she said i was mocked. ridiculed. belittled. not to offend people working or planning to work in callcenter fastfood. heres my case.

I already applied in Jolibbee befor. during my college days. as a student i want too be independent. more than the salary i really want to experience the work. it will be a humbling experience for me.After i took the board exam i applied in the call center industry.From the day of the exam I know I will pass it and beacome a registered nurse. One week before the release of the exam results i already filed my resignation. Im gonna be a nurse. Ill work as a nurse.

So there you go. Im just establishing that i dont need the money for work. my family can very well support me while waiting for the item. I am a nurse. I and my family want me to pursue my career. and after they told me i was ranked 75. how can i put that to rest. The hospital needs around 200-250 nurses.can they blame me if i still hold on. to expect and hope high that i will get hired. tell me im

What she said is very insensitive,optimism crashing and insulting for me. i dont know about you guys. the point is if we only want the salary. we could afford to lose the pride and the degree. we can very well apply and with our intelligence and skills we could climb up the ladder and become supervisors manager. but being a nurse comes with pride. self esteem. just like being a police man. if youre a police you dont target just being a traffic aide ryt /

Some nurses do. they need it. they want it. or just for the sake of waiting they are doing something. but that option is our to take and consider. not for them to offer.

the option they should and can offer. is for them to give us clerical position. since they already know our ranking. they can tell if these people from rank 51-100 can make it as nurses or not. since they are the one deciding for our fates. doing the scrupulous.

im sorry guys. these is very upsetting for me. it just makes me frustrated. reminiscing what happen. very disappointing and disheartening. hope what i shared is enough for you to get the picture of our status. the attitude of the new head of personnel and where we are heading too.

last one. when we felt discontented about her way of handling our concerns we where about to leave. i just asked the 5 if they still have some question they want to be addressed.

yes. i was about too. really. dont want to spend more time with a person like you. a public servant per ce but we didnt even got a quality service or treatment. what a shame for someone who came from the department that says TO SERVE AND PROTECT.

I have a brother I love so much and regard with high esteem in the police department.Even though I am ridiculed and felt pushed away. Im fighting for what is right.For the good of many. What you did was very brave. To stand up for what you believe in amidst the uncertainties that face all of us. What I can advice you is to seek help from public service programs of ABS-CBN or GMA. I believe there is a program aired in Teleradyo that can address your concern. They have a direct line to Mayor Lim and from there you can ask Mayor Fred your questions.

jsut got home from manila. so just a quick message

August 2 monday: went to ospital ng sampaloc and tondo.submit my credentials and letter of application for nurse position would there be any vacancy. im sure there will be in the next 3 months onwards. oston didnt accepted it. they told me to pass to city personnel. and oston has already people lined up. their papers are currenlty being processed. around 10 items. while sampaloc is still stagnant. some of the staffs to be promoted there to be posted in sta ana is still in ossam. and they already hired tempo n1 as of april or may 2010.

also i applied as clerk in the two hospital.

Aug 3 Tuesday: went to sta ana to pass my application. talked with the male hospital director. i saw one of my co trainee (clerk). she got hired april. we both applied for clerk position way back february for sta ana and trained at ossam.

hospital director said. its filled up. they already have excess hirees. and are cutting down. the hospital isnt fully operational yet. no wards yet. 5th floor still i contsruction and finishing. the offices arent furnished yet and arent occupied.

saw 4 newbies. they got their id laces. and i heard they were the new hires. 2 boys. 2 girls. one girl is a bathchmate in my volunteer days. batch 4 i guess. or maybe 3.

hospital director said. come back by the end of this year. he'll open all positions, examinations and interviews are not his thing. he said its just a headache.

"i belive that if its for you then its for you. when you come back and there is a vacant position fit for your qualifications then the job is yours to take"

"i can't do anything about the hiring." i came here on the operational process. hiring was started last year. (i told him my rank and why am i not hired yet)

still hoping. saw many guy staff nurses there. so the gossip may be true that they are cutting male nurses there.

Aug 4: Wednesday went to city personnel. i passed my credentials for clerk. followed up on sta ana application. i told them what will happen to the binondo spill over. coz im one of them. and am i waiting for an item in the months to come since i belong to the top 100.

they discussed it for 30 minutes. since i already talked with colonel last friday. i didnt want to talk with her again. so i just relayed all my concerns and issues to the two secretaties there. ranking. binondo. plantilla. clerk position.

they said that since i applied for clerk last january 2009 for binondo already. they will process both my application as a clerk or staff nurse. wherever.whenever there is a available.

at least something concrete i heard from them.

will be following up after two weeks. lets see what happen. if i get called. better do the same. important is you get in with the system. and from then on. you cand find people to recommend you for a staff nurse position while earning.

thanks. thats why im doing all of these. coz i want to inspire people. so they know there still someone fighting for what is right. and we just need to gain in numbers.

i dont want to put mAYOR in that kind of light. so im still working on how to gain access discreetly. what i want is a froum with mayor with all of us nurses. who are waiting. the ones from binondo batch last year. and now the sta ana batch. so all concerns can be raised.

now they are considering me as a clerk applicant. but i will never stop following up for the nurse item. coz in three months time the hospital will be fully operational and they gonna need nurses. it doesnt mean i applied for clerk they gonna strip me of my wiating list status as nurse.

im still looking for a backer to relay our concerns to mayor. so he can do the correct actions to those people undeserving of their position and authority. just like what he did to the previous head of personnel. whom gossips are. where exposed by other applicants of her wrong doings.

called city personnel. they said my application papers for cler was already cleared in the mayors office but no intsruction from mayor lim. if im gonna be hired. guess we really need to talked with mayor lim. i have no backer. so im a nobody in terms of these processing of application. im just following the process and adhering to their rule and system. all i have is my skills talent knowledge and faith.

some of the people i know in my batch are starting to get backers. some got note from mayor lim already on their papers. let's see if they will be hired. or that note is still useless coz its the people from the city personnel who submits and forwards names to be signed. bummer.....

This thread has taught me lots of valuable lessons. I'm beginning to miss my detractors hahaha!
