I am Wency, a registered nurse in the Philippines. I recently passed the IELTS (8.5, 7,7,7) and the NMC part 1 competency test which is the CBT. Now, I am preparing for the final test which is the OSCE. I am currently in the United Kindom particularly in Lincolnshire, and I would like to ask you guys if you know a training agency in the UK that provides training or preparatory course for OSCE because I am not confident to take it yet for some reasons that the Uk healthcare system is different from the Philippines perhaps they have different approach in providing care to the patients and etc.
Tuition fee for intensive revision for OSCE is not a problem as long as I can enroll for revision.
Hi All!
Im new to this thread. I am still waiting for my COS, but I already have my dl.. I hope it's not yet too late to ask if I can join you guys in your group study.. I am really anxious about the OSCE. I find it expensive and as much as possible I want to pass it on my first take. Glad to know that there are some of you who passed the exam already. Goodluck to everyone who will be taking their OSCE soon.
A few questions for those who have taken the OSCE. I know you are limited on what you can say. But it's hard to study the documentation papers with no examples. I'm not really sure what to write in the care plan section. Does the UK have specific nursing diagnoses? And the assessment (Activities of Living Model) has only 6 components. Does the UK not do head to toe, systems assessments? And a practical question: The dress guidelines are vague. What did you wear for the OSCE? Thanks!
have you got dl and link to online learning? There's a sample on care planning there (powerpoint presentation).. Also, check the list of books at the end of the test booklet.. There are some books there too that can help you with care planning. :) with regards to dress.. A polo shirt or a tunic (work uniform) will do.. Paired with black trousers and black shoes.
I'm joining the bandwagon too!! I'm scheduled to write my OSCE on November 26th and am really nervous about it! I'm from Canada, and have been nursing for almost 4 years. Right now I'm renting a flat in London (UK), and would love to join a study group if anybody else is in the area studying for the OSCE.
Any takers?
