Ours was similar to the lpn I think, it was VERY brief. They just skimmed over prereq's, shots, and costs. (The first one was before lpn prog was over.) Last year the RN program started with 16 but only 7 graduated. They take 16 again this year-unless 25 qualify. (so far, I don't even think 10 have passed the nclex yet) The LPN program took about 25. I think we all finished except 4. Good luck to you and make it fun!!
I start my orientation next month...it's for 4 days in August. This is scaring me....what do we have to talk about for 4 days...eek!!!: In my acceptance package they told us to go and buy the Syllabus for nursing 107 from the school bookstore before we go to orientation.....whoa!!!...I don't know...it shouldn't be too crazy...lol

in a nutshell, it was a nursing student handbook with emphasis put on many topics of dos and don'ts. cheating was talked about how to not dress in class or clinicals, what the program expects from the student and etc. i still have a couple of more things to purchases but for the most part i am ready for school. lots of studying, want can fail you, so on and so on.originally posted by nurs2bwhat all did they go over in orientation?? just curious
I was waiting for my orientation letter but never got one. Just found out why. Since I not taking the first nursing course with a clinical, I will not get an orientation until later before I begin my classes in January. I feel displaced now. I am taking two nursing courses though, one with a lab also. I guess I don't need to worry about uniforms, shots etc. since I will not be working in a hospital yet.

yes, can't you tell. i stay on here trying to see what else has been said when i am off. i do a little house work, cook, and then back on. i am sooooooo excited and anxious. it felt so much real when i had orientation and registered for my classes on monday. the only thing i have to do, besides "ins and outs" is to re-certify for cpr which will be on august 7. but, really, i am not excited! :)

yes, i can definately tell you are not excited..lol.. i'm doing cpr/bls on august 10th. was feeling kind of down on monday but chatting with everything really helps take some of the anxiety away.
i'm not sure if i want to purchase a really expensive stethoscope now, maybe later. what kind do you use?
would it be wise to just purchase a nice littman (sp) now?
