Ok...taking Organic Chem this semester as my final pre-req before starting Accelerated BSN Jan 08. Problem, the professor is from China and EXTREMELY hard to understand. On top of that the class meets Saturdays and Sundays from 12:30 to 4:10 for 12 weeks. Too late to register anywhere else...so having to suck it up. But...need some serious help to get trhough. Anyone recommend a good supplemental book or software or SOMETHING to learn this junk? Got an A in Genreal Chem but having a time understanding this professor, therefore, understanding all the concepts. Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks!!

i had organic & biochem last semester... i had a really hard time finding resources to help me, but i thought my textbook was actually pretty good. (it was introduction to chemistry, organic and biochemistry by bettelheim).
some websites i looked at were:
http://www.cem.msu.edu/~reusch/virtualtext/intro1.htm#contnt
http://www.mhhe.com/physsci/chemistry/carey5e/
http://chemistry.boisestate.edu/rbanks/organic/nomenclature/organicnomenclature1.htm
http://www.bio.mtu.edu/campbell/401sch1.html
the best advise i could give you is to do lots and lots of practice problems.

I bought a CD from Amazon.com called Excalibur ChemTutor. It has helped me so far because I need practice, and this provides more practice. It's not so good for initial learning. It's for repetitive practice to cement what you know.
Does your textbook have a student solutions manual? That might help as well.
Thanks for the advice! I do have a solutions manual and that will help. I was also told a good book to support the class is called "Organic Chemistry: A second Language". Maybe I'll try that too. Thanks for the websites Michigangirl. Ok...only 11 more weeks.....
