I'm not even sure if organic is even required for CRNA school. I believe they like to see that you may have taken a class like that, but as far as being required as a pre-rec. I am not sure you need it. I took both as well, I think when dealing with the actual anesthetics you may learn the basic structures and chemical groups attached to the main molecule, but I could be wrong and you may have to know alot more. I do think people who are RN's and earned a traditional BSN that are accepted and go to CRNA school never had to take organic chem or biochem, maybe a basic intro, but not the full deal like many science majors take in college. Nothing wrong with that, I know someone who did the traditional 4 year BSN and she only took a couple chem courses, one was Chemistry (basic inorganic chem), the other was one semester of bio-organic, which was elementary organic and biochem. So, your science degree should really help stand you out, that and doing well in RN school and then doing well in the ICU. That's really all you can do, from there just hope for the best.
Isnt Organic Chem a NECESSITY to score well on GRE?
you are talking about the subject test for the GRE...it's the general test that most CRNA programs requires..like the other posters had said it is testing your knowledge in math from algebra, geometry and stat; and for english, it's vocabulary to reading comprehension and essay writing..

So I have taken a total of 4 semesters worth of biochemistry and organic chemistry in my 1st degree (physiology). I also took 2 labs with my organics. Does anyone know if CRNA schools will accept a biochem class over organic classes??? I actually did alot better in biochem than organic. Organic was my toughest class in undergrad by far.
Thanks
