Hi,
I can’t find a thread for this program so figured I would start one. I was wondering if anyone has got a confirmation their application was received?

I expect the first week of April will see movement, if there is any. Best of luck!
Is anyone else having trouble with compliance in Complio?
@tonniea YES. I keep getting my Hep B and MMR kicked back even though I have positive titers for both and the full vaccination series. Something about how they need to be uploaded individually. I moved to the US at age 6 and my medical records are a little spotty so this has been very frustrating.

I hope to meet you both soon! THANK YOU!
Oh! And are you both in Ashland or just right outside?
Ashland is SO expensive. I looked at a few places, but they weren't great for the cost. The place I got is in Medford and 20 minutes from school. 1 minute from Rogue Regional. Twice the square feet for the same price ?

Oh, that's good to know! I'll definitely look at Medford then. I don't need much! And 20 minutes isn't bad at all.

I live in Medford - it's definitely cheaper! If I were to choose again I'd go for Talent though. It's a cute little town, in between Ashland and Medford.

No news yet ? but I'm hoping there will be after April 11th!
Oh, and one thing that's helpful to know for the people moving from out of town...
Southern Oregon does NOT have traffic. Like NONE. The worst you'll ever get is a little bit of congestion (when things normalize) on roads near grocery stores when people are getting off work. It'll add 1-2 minutes to your drive home. It's hard for people to find jobs here except in a few select industries, so that has the one positive effect of keeping the population growth lower than a lot of areas. But if you're looking for places and map the time it takes to drive, you can expect it to take that time when you're getting to school in the am and at "rush hour" because the roads just don't get busy here.
@ohjoy I cannot believe the price for some of these places that look completely run down! Mama Mia! Anyone want to rent a house together? I see nice homes but I don't need 3 bedrooms and can't afford a whole home but if I had roommates, I could. Hopefully, OHSU will send information on housing so I can see about getting a dorm room at least for the first quarter...
For those accepted to the Ashland ABSN looking for affordable housing, act quickly. Vacancy for all of Jackson County is <2% (compared to the national average of 7%) and-- like most anywhere on the west coast-- housing is expensive. The good news is that Oregon passed a law last year that restricts rent increases to 7% annually (plus inflation), so your rent won't increase much in the 15-ish months you'll be here. Medford is notably cheaper than Ashland, but it's not without compromise. I've lived in Medford since 2016 and commuted to Ashland to finish my degree at SOU. In the city of Ashland, the speed limit is, at most, 25 mph, no matter where you are (except the east half of Ashland St.). In fact, the few miles you travel through town is almost half of your commute. Parking availability in Ashland-- paid or free-- is very limited; SOU is no different. I've spent as long as 15 minutes searching for parking, even when I had a commuter pass. This happened infrequently, but even on "good days", you will spend more time parking and walking to class than most might expect. Even living 5 minutes from the south exit, I found I had to allow myself at least 40 minutes from the time I left my house to the time I took a seat in the classroom, to ensure I arrived on time (often, I arrived quite literally "on time"). After awhile, you may find that Medford's cheaper rent doesn't make up for the tedious commute, especially with Ashland's parking challenges.
All that said, the Rogue Valley is a beautiful place and there are available rentals between Medford and Ashland that may be a suitable compromise (several of my classmates lived in Talent). I grew up out in the sticks 25 miles from the nearest city, so long commutes are normal to me. Anyone used to living 10-15 minutes from everything, might want to consider spending the extra money to live closer to campus.

Agreed 100%. The housing shortage is insanity. And the Valley might not have traffic, but Ashland at 4 pm in June certainly has a lack of parking and a mass of pedestrians. Okay maybe not this June.... I used to live in Ashland and it was way better than living in Medford. Very walkable, and much more pleasant to walk than Medford. I cycle commute and it's quite easy if you live in Ashland or just outside of Ashland. I moved because my partner works in white city, which was a very long commute.
@kangaroo My friend lived in SOU housing and likes it, plus it's pretty cheap. Hard to say if it will be available for the Summer though, when so many colleges are telling students to leave campus
