Hello,
I thought I'd start a thread about anyone currently applying to any of the OHSU Nursing programs for the 2014 cohort. I currently have three applications in with them: Accelerated BSN to MSN: Psychiatric Mental Health, Accelerated BSN, and the traditional BSN Program. Has anyone had any word from them? I know that the Accel. programs have closed both their applications. Any word on interviews or scheduling?
I am currently finishing up my preqs at PCC. I am working full-time and am just flustered. I hate not knowing anything with regard to where I stand or what type of candidate they are looking for.
Does anyone else feel similarly?
How did you answer your essay questions?
I'm curious for knowledge to see if I made the boat or missed it completely.

Hi!I've applied to the BSN program. I'm almost finished with the RCC application too. I was going to apply to the accelerated program, but was told not to waste my time if my Advanced Micro grade was lower than a B (it's a C+. I was 32 weeks pregnant taking that class. It was crazy!). I have my bachelors degree from SOU and have all my prerequisites and corequisutes completed. Just needing my nursing courses. . I have all A's and 3 B+ in my prerequisites, but I'm nervous that won't be high enough. Just hoping to land an interview and wow them. (Ashland campus doesn't do written essay's. they just do interviews). Good luck to you! Hope you get in. I was told last year they had over 750 applicants to the BSN program and less than 150 spots to offer between all the different campuses. Yikes!
I'm mobile and for some reason my phone doesn't want to format correct. Sorry.

I applied to ABSN and ABSN/midwifery. I heard Wednesday that I got an interview and scheduled that for later this month!

Congrats on getting an interview! So it was like about a month wait from when the time the applications closed to when they notified you of your interview? The only reason I ask is because the program I'm hoping for just closed and I am an extremely impatient person when it comes to things like interviews/applications/waiting, etc.
Good luck with the 'view and let me know how it went. Do they tell you anything about how to prepare for it or what to expect?

There is a closed Facebook group just for ABSN/MSN applicants. Feel free to join!
Look up OHSU Accelerated Bachelors to Masters Applicants 2014.

Thank you! I just sent my request to join!

Good luck guys! In my second term of the ABSN program at OHSU now :) The waiting is the hardest part during applications!
@ mamakac
Congrats on being in your second term at OHSU! That is amazing!!! Did you have to go through an interview process for the program or just wait until they announced who had made the cut?
I'm hoping for the psychiatric specialty - and they do require an interview. If you did interview what was this process like? And how is school going

I believe OHSU's ABSN does not conduct interviews, this is something I received from them a few days ago:
Thank you for applying to the OHSU School of Nursing! Below we are outlining the stages of your application review process and the timelines for decision communications.
All of the applications to the Accelerated Bachelor of Science with a major in nursing program for the Portland campus are currently being processed and prepared for review. This process will continue until approximately the middle of February 2014.
Please know that should there be any item missing from your application, upon processing we will be contacting you and give you time to follow up and submit whatever items might be missing.
All of the complete applications will be forwarded to the reviewing committee in late February 2014. Final admission decisions will be made and mailed in early April 2014.
We hope this information is of help and wish you the best of luck.
Sincerely,
OHSU School of Nursing

@TotheAna Just curious. I thought that the Accelerated BSN to MSN was for people who already had a BSN?
The ABSN/MSN and the ABSN programs definitely require a previous bachelor's. It looks like the ABSN doesn't require interviews, based on what you quoted, but the ABSN/MSN does.
