Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2017)

Published

Hey everyone :)

So fall just flew in so I thought what a great time it would be to start my nursing applications lol. It is very early, but I enjoy having this on my mind. I am in my final year at University and am hoping to be a nursing student come next September. I wanted to make a space where we could come together with a common goal: getting accepted. The schools I plan to apply are:

Trent, Toronto, Humber, Western and Queens

Possibly considering RPN programs as well.

Just got accepted to McMaster.

Good luck everyone!

Hey congrats! Is your offer up in your OUAC yet? Cuz mine still is not there

Hey pianoplaya94!

Wow seems like you have a ton of experience, I'm sure it will benefit you in your application!!

You actually have a ton of space to outline your leadership and community involvement / significant accomplishments. Only the first two questions regarding your personal statement have a limit of 250 words!

You can keep in touch with me and I'll love to help you out when you're filling out your application this Fall!

Congratulations :) That's amazing! Thank you so much for sharing your story! I'm still waiting to hear back from them ! I have been so worried and couldn't get proper sleep as people so far who have got accepted on this forum has a great GPA and tons of research experiences. You really helped me put me in ease. I really appreciate that!

Hoping for the best for everyone! Enjoy your summer :)

Hey nya30!

I'm so glad I was able to at least put some ease to this stressful process! I know the struggle of waiting and the anxiety that comes with it.

Let me know if you need anything else! Hopefully I'll see you in the fall :) Good luck!

Hey, just wondering: western is currently waiting on my final grades and says that we will know by the end of may. All of my other offers expire tomorrow (may 1st) so if I accept someone else does that effect my chance of being accepted to western? I just can't let me other offers expire and just hope I get accepted to western.

any advice would be great!

You can accept other offers through OUAC and it will NOT prevent another school from sending you an Offer. I had accepted Trent's offer in March, but received an offer from Western last week. I was able to Cancel my Acceptance to Trent, and then accept Western's Offer.

Got my acceptance from Nipissing SPP this morning!! I thought my interview went terrible so I'm very relieved but also very surprised! :)

Hi everyone! So quick question. I received an offer from McMaster for their Nursing (Basic-Accelerated Stream) (Above Level I) via email and on MOSAIC. HOWEVER, when I logged in to accept the offer on OUAC, it says I have been given an alternate offer: McMaster University, Second Degree (Above Level I) 2017 Fall (September)Co-op: No. Can anyone give me some insight on this? Thank you!

I applied to the Nipissing SPP and got an interview, and then I checked the student portal this morning and saw that the status of my application had been changed from No Decision Made” to "Offered Conditional Admission”. I was just wondering if anyone knows what that means exactly and if it means I am missing something? Any advice would be helpful!

Thank you very much! I would like to get some help when it comes time to write my application :) THanks for the info and the offer :)

Does anyone know whether UofT uses your GPA or your average when looking at your application? What about Nipissing?

Thanks!!

I am incredibly torn between Trent and Western, I don't know what to do. Any insight?

Wondering if anyone has any insight about the pros/cons between McMaster and UofT's accelerated programs? I was recently accepted to McMaster and I am waiting on UofT and I am trying to find some feedback from current/previous students about their thoughts on each program!

Hey,

Just wanted to update that I received an offer of admission to YORK on Thursday April 27th via email. Still waiting on U of T. Congrats to everyone so far!!
