Hey everyone :)
So fall just flew in so I thought what a great time it would be to start my nursing applications lol. It is very early, but I enjoy having this on my mind. I am in my final year at University and am hoping to be a nursing student come next September. I wanted to make a space where we could come together with a common goal: getting accepted. The schools I plan to apply are:
Trent, Toronto, Humber, Western and Queens
Possibly considering RPN programs as well.
Looks like you're in good standing alexab09!
I'm hoping to be around 82-83 for the final 2 years after this semester.
I am thinking about doing a few more courses in the Winter. Does anyone know if you can be rejected (say from Western) for only having an 82% when the cut off is 84% even if you are enrolled in courses in the winter? Or would they hold your application until the final grades are released in April?
If you have > 80% Western defers their admission decision until your winter grades released.

The other schools I applied to were Trent, Mac, U of T, and Humber. At Humber I was waitlisted with my fall grades and then they recalculated and accepted me off the waitlist with my winter grades. I cant say what happens with Trent because I was accepted there in February. Mac and U of T had rolling offers, and I wasn't waitlisted or rejected there until the end of June at which point they had my winter grades.
So while Western is the only school that sends you an official letter to say they are deferring their admission decision, as long as you hold the prereqs I believe all of those schools wait until they have your winter grades to make their final decision.
Hey post-it do you know if any other schools wait until your Winter grades are realized in ~may to give you an offer? or do they not all count that term?
Hey everyone!
I am applying to Trent, Western, Queens and U of T. I was wondering if any one knows how the schools know that I am currently taking anatomy and physiology through Athabasca? I applied on OUAC last night and there was no spot there do to so, guessing because it is not a Ontario school.
Thanks and goodluck to every one :)
Hey guys,
I was reading over this feed and thought I'd make a contribution. I'm in my last year of Biological Science with a minor in Nutrition at Guelph. I applied at the beginning of November to McMaster, Western and Trent. My cGPA is 84.2% right now, with an 87.6% over the last two years. I'm hoping to get my cGPA up to an 85.5% and my last ten credits up to a 90% over this next year. When I applied through OUAC i put down that I wanted them to send my grades after the ones for this fall had come in, so I'm not sure if that will affect the timing of my application or what.
Anyways, I'm really excited about this entire process.
If anyone has any CASPer tips, I'd love to hear 'em.
Cheers,
Lindsay
Hi everyone,
I applied to Humber and Trent last year and got into both schools.
I chose Humber (because of the campus location + placement location) and I am currently finishing up my first semester at Humber!
So if any of you guys have questions about two school I had applied, ask anytime :)
Good luck to all of you.

No problem!, Peterborough is just a small city an hour and a half from Toronto. Everyone is pretty friendly here, and the profs at Trent are supportive since they dont't have to focus on so many students.
Grad school has a lot of differnt types of masters in nursing degrees you can pursue. It depends on the school since they all have different programs. For example, U of T has nurse practitioner- adult/geriatrics, UBC has family nurse practitioner (FNP), and theres even a masters in nursing with a focus on business.
Yea I think applying to both would be less risky, especially since Trent now has a CASPER test this year that all applicants have to take.
