Ontario Second-Entry Nursing

Published

Hi Everyone!

This is super early to talk about applying to nursing school for 2016, but it's always better to be well-prepared! Let's share some thoughts and help each other out!

I am re-applying to nursing schools as I did not get in last year, and planning to enroll to more courses for pre-reqs and to increase my GPA (I graduated with a B.A.)hopefully this year will be much better and with luck!!!!

I have a few universities in mind to apply -

  1. University of Toronto
  2. York
  3. Nipissing
  4. Western
  5. Queen's
  6. McMaster

Should I apply to more? Which one should I apply? I am super eager to enter the program and I failed once, failing twice is not allowed!

Feel Free to give me suggestions or ask questions! Here is a link I found online listing most of the second entry nursing programs.

Best wishes to everyone! Good Luck!

Congrats!! That is such a high cGPA, my cGPA was 3.3. Were you thinking of medicine or always wanted nursing?

Has anyone contacts mcmaster to ask when they will start to send out offers? I just don't want to keep bugging them if someone already has
I am so sick and tired of waiting for Mac........

How many students does Mac accept for their accelerating program?

I am uncertain but I believe Mac takes about 90 students? Correct me if I am wrong!

Good afternoon everyone! I hope all is well, I finished my undergrad yesterday...and was looking forward to any email from any universities, but have yet to receive anything. Has anyone received acceptances from York University's 2nd-Entry Program? If yes, would you mind sharing your cGPA and last 30 credits GPA as well? Thank you.

They sent my conditional offer before receiving my final marks at the beginning of May (because my average was on the lower side). I don't know anyone else that got a conditional offer though, but many people were working/ in their Master's so it's hard to tell.

Hey Meganv, I've read your posts and honestly we have the same if not identical ec's and hopefully similar gpa by the end of this term, and I would like to talk about the toronto program and application anxiety you felt last year? Please PM (I can't yet because I'm so new) I would really like to contact you because I have so many questions.

Stress is majorly setting in :( Exams are done and I have nothing else to obsess over but getting into school. I'm sure others are feeling the same - I'm there with you.

For those asking about McMaster, If you read the confirmation email it says that we won't hear until early May so I'm assuming they're waiting for this term's grades.
