I know it's early, but let's get a thread going. 2015-hopefuls, share your thoughts, concerns, questions, and experiences here!

Hi everyone! This is my first time posting here.

I was wondering if anyone who applied to nursing schools is in their 2nd or 3rd year of undergrad?

To those who have been accepted so far, have you already completed your undergrad?

I'm in my 2nd year and applied to UofT.

I am!!! havent heard back from York or U of T yet... not expecting york til my grades r in as i am internal and I am sure they will only start accepting people once their final grades are in.

U of T I heard started sending out acceptances..hoping to get in as well!!! Keep me posted if you hear back :)

I got into Trent last month. I havent accepted it.. cause you got to pay 500$ and it isnt my top choice.

I got a UBC nursing interview and you dont hear back about acceptances until may I think.

I am waiting to hear back from u of T. I hope I get in.

You guys think I should pay my 500$ to secure my Trent spot..uhhh 500$ is a lot.

When does your offer for Trent expire? Mine is April 24th. Trent also is not my top choice, but I am planning to waiting till just before it expires to accept it and see if I hear back from everywhere else. If I do get into one of my top choices I will most likely forfeit the deposit, which I understand is not an option for everyone. I just don't want to take the chance that I would be without an option to go to school next year, in the end any nursing program is better than none. Also that being said, Trent may not have all the prestige as some of the bigger schools but I have heard positive things about the nursing program. I am from the area so I have quite a few friends who go there. Thats just my take on the situation! :)

I emailed Trent when I first got the offer asking if there was a deposit, and they just said there was a tuition deposit of $500 due by June... Now it seems to me that this would not have to be paid IF you don't end up going to the program (ie. If you accept another offer).....

Oh, I am confused then because the Trent Financial Services pages says it's due within 3 days of accepting your offer (or by June 2nd, I'm asumming that's if you're a returning student).

Here is the link where I found the information. If it gets closer to the deadline and I haven't heard from anywhere else I will end up calling to confirm.

I think the "3 days within accepting your offer" part is for students who get their offer after June 2nd.

Ya, that would make sense too. I think I will call to confirm either way. Thanks!

I am also in the same boat and I was planning on accepting the Trent offer if I dont hear anything from other schools and just forfeit the $500. I was also under the impression you had to pay within 3 days of accepting. Let me know what you find out from the school!

The deadline to accept your offer is April 24th, and the deadline to pay the tuition deposit is June 2nd. The statement regarding paying 3 days after accepting an offer is for applicants who accept after June 2nd.

that's what ****** said ... The advisor to the program. Yay for us

That's a relief then, thanks :)
