Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2021

Published

Hey everyone!

I haven't seen a post for Fall 2021 yet so here it is!

My choices are:

1. UofT

2. McMaster

3. Nipissing SPP

I started my OUAC application in November and now trying to work on the supplemental packages. My CASPer Test is on January 12, 2021.

I need to take Anatomy and Physio course(s) however, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would satisfy the requirements from all three universities. My options so far are:

1. Take CBLG 101 in Winter and CBLG 111 in Spring at Ryerson. However final grade will be in June; hoping that's fine.  This satisfies all 3 unis

2. Take SCS 2159 in Winter from UofT which is enough for UofT and McMaster but not for Nipissing. I have to take an Anatomy course just for Nip.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from back home, been working as an RECE in Toronto the last 8 years, have a Diploma in Nonprofit Management at Ryerson. My cGPA is 3.55 which I'm worried about. Lots of extra curricular activities from university and volunteering here in Toronto.  I still have to compute the GPA for the last two years.

I requested WES to send my transcripts to Nip and McMaster and asked my old uni to send to UofT.

It's been an expensive application so far; really hoping I get in! Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences.

literally feeling annoyed that they can't tell us our spot or how many people are on the waitlist... did everyone that wasn't accepted yet get on the waitlist?

was also put on waitlist this morning. super frustrating, also curious if everyone was put on waitlist that didn't get accepted.

Very annoying. I doubt they would put everyone on the waitlist, there could be people that just don't receive any answer yet. It would be nice to know though how many people are on the list and/or if anyone hasn't or has been rejected.

Heyyy!

Hope you guys are doing well,

I just have a question about York, how many people heard back from them? My status hasn't changed from No Decision Yet to anything ?, was just wondering and little nervous. LOL

Has anyone heard from McMaster at all? Just wondering if anyone has received an offer my portal still shows that my application is pending

Did you ever end up deciding which school you will go to?? I also got accepted to Western and UofT but decided to choose UofT in the end. It's a really great program and bonus points cuz I get to live at home!!

hey! if you don't mind me asking, what was your final year GPA that you got accepted with for UofT? also, what were your EC's like? I look forward to hearing from you!

Does anyone know how I can make it so that when people reply to this thread, it notifies me through email?

Hi everyone,

I just checked my western account and got a letter stating that they have deferred my application until I can provide a transcript of my current academic year, once they receive this letter they will review my application again. I was wondering what this means and if anyone also got this letter.

I graduated last year and my fourth year GPA was a 3.9. I am taking a post grad year and doing some pre-reqs (Physiology, Chemistry, Biology, and Psychology).

I also got wait listed from Queens today so I am not feeling too great

I got the same letter from western, I am in my final year though. It means that they can't offer us an acceptance until they see our final marks I am also taking the prereqs this year so I think its because your taking the prereqs that they need the final transcript before they offer acceptances.

I had those exact two notifications today as well. I feel your pain!

The deferral letter from Western is regarding your pre-requisites. I'm only completing one pre-requisite (anatomy/ physiology) and was told by admissions not too long ago that they will likely need my final grades to make a decision. She told me that there were plenty of acceptances to still go out and just have the marks in as soon as possible.

I also got waitlisted to Queens and also received the same letter from Western. Does anyone know if I'm supposed to resend my transcript with the selection of "end of term-Winter"? I already finished all my pre-reqs and I'm a fourth year student.

I sent my transcript with that selection of "end of term-Winter". I think they also consider the Winter mark in the last 10 credits calculation for GPA
