Hey everyone!
I haven't seen a post for Fall 2021 yet so here it is!
My choices are:
1. UofT
2. McMaster
3. Nipissing SPP
I started my OUAC application in November and now trying to work on the supplemental packages. My CASPer Test is on January 12, 2021.
I need to take Anatomy and Physio course(s) however, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would satisfy the requirements from all three universities. My options so far are:
1. Take CBLG 101 in Winter and CBLG 111 in Spring at Ryerson. However final grade will be in June; hoping that's fine. This satisfies all 3 unis
2. Take SCS 2159 in Winter from UofT which is enough for UofT and McMaster but not for Nipissing. I have to take an Anatomy course just for Nip.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from back home, been working as an RECE in Toronto the last 8 years, have a Diploma in Nonprofit Management at Ryerson. My cGPA is 3.55 which I'm worried about. Lots of extra curricular activities from university and volunteering here in Toronto. I still have to compute the GPA for the last two years.
I requested WES to send my transcripts to Nip and McMaster and asked my old uni to send to UofT.
It's been an expensive application so far; really hoping I get in! Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences.

I just googled it, UofT's GPA scale is different from the OMSAS scale so be careful with your applications to other schools! I know Mac and Western use OMSAS to calculate GPA. ?

I was looking online and someone said you convert all your grades and then avg it, but some also say to just convert your avg straight to the 4.0 scale using the conversion chart. I did both ways and calculated a diff avg
I converted every grade using the OMSAS scale then averaged it and I double-checked with this website: https://mcmaster-GPA-calculator.web.app/# Someone please correct me if I'm wrong (':

Thanks for the heads up! Luckily only U of T asked me to self-report my GPA on the app. I guess I calculated my sub GPA for western and Mac incorrectly then LOL

I am graduating from McMaster this Winter, and was wondering if anyone else from McMaster has applied to Queens? If so, what were the physiology prereqs you have? I fear I misunderstood how the McMaster courses transfer to the Queens physiology requirements. Thanks!!
Hey! So for physiology I took Kin 2Y03 and Kin 2YY3. Each of these courses is a one half course for both anatomy and physiology. So essentially if you complete both (since Queens requires a full credit in physiology, only half for anatomy), you end up with full credits for both anatomy and physiology

Hi! Thanks so much for the reply! Those are the exact courses I took as well! I just got concerned because on the admissions page there was a weird comment that said "A combination of: KINESIOL 1AA3 or 1YY3 or 2YY3 AND KINESIOL 1A03 or 1Y03 or 2Y03 one additional 3.0 unit course in Human Physiology". So I was really paranoid that I needed to take another physiology course on top of the 2 KINESIOL courses (which did not make sense to me). So thanks for clearing that up for me!! All the best.

The wording on their requirements was pretty tricky and they didn't get back to my email. I thought you needed Kin 2Y03, 2YY3 and an additional course so I didn't apply. Ugh I'm so sad ?

I just went back to check after your earlier comment, and ya that confused me too. It doesn't make sense to take an additional 3.0 course on top of two Kin courses already. I hope we're good! All the best to you too ?

Yeah, plus a lot of the other physiology courses they included were really outdated, so I feel as though that page has not been updated in a while. Perhaps the wording actually means one of: KIN 1A03, KIN 1Y03, KIN 2YY3, AND another 3.0 human physiology course (whether than be the continuation of these KIN courses or not).

The wording is so tricky! They did not get back to me either and when I called they just directed me to e-mail again. I'm sure you will get into another school! Don't beat yourself up for not applying!!

Ya I think by "combination of" they mean you should have any combination of those listed courses that would fulfill one full credit (2 half courses). I really hope that's what they mean by that

And yes, a 3.7 is really good! But I fully understanding the being hard on yourself part because I do the same thing
I believe if you take your cGPA and just convert it into the 4.0, you end up with a higher average than converting each grade individually into the 4.0 scale. My Mac Cgpa is 10.4 which if converted directly to 4.0 scale is a 3.8 but converting my individual grades gives me a 3.7. From what I've researched on, it should be each individual grade converted into 4.0 and then dividing by the total number of classes (so for me that would be 17 classes after fall sem since I'm in second year). I also used this site to double check: https://mcmaster-GPA-calculator.web.app/

For anyone who goes to Mac and is applying internally, do you know if our application will show up on mosaic, or will we receive our acceptances/rejections by email? Thank you! ❤️
I believe no matter how you apply, internally or externally, your app will show up on mosaic! ?
