Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2021

Published

Hey everyone!

I haven't seen a post for Fall 2021 yet so here it is!

My choices are:

1. UofT

2. McMaster

3. Nipissing SPP

I started my OUAC application in November and now trying to work on the supplemental packages. My CASPer Test is on January 12, 2021.

I need to take Anatomy and Physio course(s) however, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would satisfy the requirements from all three universities. My options so far are:

1. Take CBLG 101 in Winter and CBLG 111 in Spring at Ryerson. However final grade will be in June; hoping that's fine.  This satisfies all 3 unis

2. Take SCS 2159 in Winter from UofT which is enough for UofT and McMaster but not for Nipissing. I have to take an Anatomy course just for Nip.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from back home, been working as an RECE in Toronto the last 8 years, have a Diploma in Nonprofit Management at Ryerson. My cGPA is 3.55 which I'm worried about. Lots of extra curricular activities from university and volunteering here in Toronto.  I still have to compute the GPA for the last two years.

I requested WES to send my transcripts to Nip and McMaster and asked my old uni to send to UofT.

It's been an expensive application so far; really hoping I get in! Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences.

I contacted the admissions committee a few weeks ago regarding the admissions process. They told me they review applicants with the highest final year GPA and then work their way down. They also said when they review applicants with the highest GPA, they look at their application holistically (aside from just having a high GPA, they look at EC’s, references, statement). They do consider your Fall 2020 and Winter 2021 grades!

Thank you for the insight! This makes me nervous as my final year GPA is 3.68 which is less competitive...

Hi! I just finished BIOL235 midterm 1, does anyone know if I can see my mark immediately? Also, does it automatically submit once the test is over ?

Don’t be!! I’ve seen students on previous forums get accepted with GPA’s around 3.5, 3.6. As previous posts have said, UofT looks at the whole picture to see what you bring to the table. I haven’t heard from UofT either, but positive thoughts only!! We got this ?

Don't worry too much! I had a final year GPA of 3.75 and I was accepted in the 3rd round of offers ? stay hopeful, you got this ??

I usually get an automated email with my score 1-2hours after I submit the exam. Your tutor will update your grades on My Athabasca within a week.

Will the unofficial transcript say the grade? Or is it like the one we submitted in Feb, that just says in-progress?

Thanks! And all the best! I'm a bit worried myself for my grade. I hope I hear from UofT before my finals that way Ill have more time to study. I have an offer from Nipissing now and the deadline is end of June.

I'm assuming it should since I usually get my midterm marks within a 3 hours and they update onto the grades section the next day. So, I'll upload my unofficial transcript soon all grades are on there while the official ones gets mailed. Only cause I would rather UofT see my marks and keep me in the running because mailed transcripts can take up to 5 days. Plus, AU kind of extra for only giving final grades until they receive the lab kit so I really don't want to delay the process. And same, I've only completed one midterm and have two to go. But I'm finding that the midterm seemed easier than the quizzes, those are brutal LOL. Good luck to you too!

Someone mentioned the deadline to submit marks for the AU course is July 15th for U of T. Is this also the deadline for Western? Or does each school have different deadlines?

I emailed Western and they said the deadline for final transcripts is May 17

The McMaster acceptances that were sent out.. was that for the 4 year bscn program?

I applied to the 3 year rpm-bscn program... just wondering if these were the acceptances went out.

I do not have mosaic, only Mocomotion.

I believe that's the final official transcript deadline for those who have a conditional offer! Maybe email admissions about the deadline if you have not received an offer yet because they wrap up review by the end of June I think

Congratulations on everyone’s offer so far.

I know someone on this thread mentioned earlier that one of his /her social science courses counted as psychology for the humbers second entry prep program. Does anyone know if corporate governance will be considered as social sciences or count towards psychology?

also I’m asking again incase anyone missed it . Is there anyone taking or had taken UNB anatomy online or Pathophysiology?

thank you
