Hello Everyone,
I am currently a third year York University student hoping to apply for second entry nursing at York
only next year (yes I am going through the strike).
Since applications open in November, I thought it would be best to get this forum started. I am hoping to get more insight into the program and I hope current and past nursing students would share their views on the program and how job searching went. Also, what nursing specialties do most York nursing graduates enter as I am hoping to get into public health. Furthermore, share your insights on Humber, McMaster, U of T, Trent, Queens, Western, Ottawa and Nippissing. (I think that is all) and don't forget to include your acceptance GPAs.
I received an email from UofT today saying I have been waitlisted! I was accepted into York and did accept my offer but I would go with UofT if the spot opens up as it's way closer for me. I did my undergrad degree at York and had mostly really good professors. I also know a couple of nurses who did the 2nd entry program at York and got hired very fast after and absolutely loved the program and the professors, so I guess either one will be good in the end.

Congratulations on getting your acceptance to York and for getting on the waitlist for UofT! Do you mind sharing when you got the email today? Did they explain how the waitlist/ranking works?

Thank you! I received the email at 10:27am today. They didn't share anything regarding the ranking. They just asked for a reply by July 4th to confirm I am interested in staying on the waitlist and if so, they would send instructions on how to complete the Student Preparedness Permit including police record check and immunization, since those need to be done prior to the placements which start right away. It also says they would notify me immediately if a spot becomes available before September...so I guess that can anywhere up to the very end of August.
Hello!
If anyone here has accepted an offer elsewhere than York or needs to transfer to another course/lab for NURS1543 can you please let me know, so maybe we can coordinate something? Right now I’m in lab 02 but I’m absolutely desperate to get into lab 01 so I can carpool with my husband and make both of our lives so much easier. Thanks!

I was wondering if you received an email back from UofT about being on the waitlist? I haven't received anything yet and I'm not sure my email went through! Thanks and congrats on being waitlisted ?

Hey, congrats on making it to the waitlist too! ? I haven't received anything yet but I'm sure they're still waiting until all applicants have responded to their email regarding being interested in staying on the waitlist by July 4th. My guess is we'll probably hear back sometime after that day. I hope this pans out well for all of us regardless!

Today's the last day to hear back from UofT, did anyone (who's still waiting for an answer from them) hear anything so far?
