Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2018

Published

I'm applying to the second entry nursing program in February 2018 for Fall 2018 admission. I'm applying to York, Humber, Trent, Nipissing and potentially Western. I'll be applying with a BA in psych. This is probably super premature, but I wanted some reassurance from fellow applicants. I also wanted to know if anyone, past or previous applicants, know the weighting of Additional Information forms and how they're considered during the application process? I was diagnosed with ADHD during my second year of university, after being misdiagnosed two previous times, and it's certainly had an impact on my grades. My GPA is going to be something like 6.7 on a 9.0 scale. And this really has me worried. Has anyone else had any experiences with Add. Forms?

Good luck to all!

I just wanted to clarify, if we accept to one University, are we still able to receive offers from another? I am waiting to hear back from Western, but want to accept to another school in case I do not get into Western.

Yes if you accept one offer you can still accept another offer later on!

Hey everyone. This is my first time commenting but I have been following this forum for a while. Honestly, I think I just need some reinforcement. Is there anyone who has gotten and accepted an offer from Western yet? I did my undergrad at Western and because of that, it was extremely simple applying - no supplementary material and my marks are already with them! I'm just so anxious (even though as far as I've heard, offers should be out in a few days??). The average for my last two years was in the low 80s and I don't know what to expect...I just want to get in so badly.....who has some words of encouragement?

Does anyone know if the Nursing program at Brock University is any good? I just got an offer today.

I did my undergrad there in med science so we had some overlap, the nurses seemed happy and enjoyed what they were doing. The st Catharines hospital is really new and has a lot of up to date technology to work in too (I've been a patient, never worked there)

Overall it's a great program if you have some transfer credits and such

Hey, I was accepted to York and Mac for accelerated nursing and was wondering which one was better. I know Mac is a semester shorter which is nice but I'm just graduating with my degree from Mac and didn't anticipate going back.

Hey, I just completed my undergrad at Western too. My average for the last 2 years is 87%, and I still haven't gotten accepted!

I got an alternative offer from Trent even though they haven't reveieved my final marks :(

This happened to me too! :( :(

I received a conditional offer from Trent, they don't wait for final marks!

I wonder if we can just do BSC nursing 4 year degree and if we come with a BSC from another school if they'll just count those credits, making it compressed anyway?

I'm wondering the same thing myself. I have a lot of science pre-reqs that would transfer, and could potentially shorten the 4 year program length.
