I'm applying to the second entry nursing program in February 2018 for Fall 2018 admission. I'm applying to York, Humber, Trent, Nipissing and potentially Western. I'll be applying with a BA in psych. This is probably super premature, but I wanted some reassurance from fellow applicants. I also wanted to know if anyone, past or previous applicants, know the weighting of Additional Information forms and how they're considered during the application process? I was diagnosed with ADHD during my second year of university, after being misdiagnosed two previous times, and it's certainly had an impact on my grades. My GPA is going to be something like 6.7 on a 9.0 scale. And this really has me worried. Has anyone else had any experiences with Add. Forms?
Good luck to all!
@stari3 UofT looks at GPA for last 10 full credits so thats what I calculated. I'm not really sure exactly but I believe mine was around 3.3 so quite on the lower side of UofT admissions. However I do have a ton of relevant experience so I know that helped but based on my grades I was seriously doubting whether I would get in. I work at SickKids in clinical research, have done years of volunteering in healthcare (at Holland Bloorview and Sickkids in child life) and my reference is a nurse practitioner at Sickkids. My acceptance goes to show that UofT truly does accept people with lower GPA's (to UofT standards) if you have really good experience which is awesome!!
hey! Did you also take a full course load? like 5 courses a term? also how were your pre-requisite grades if you don't mind me asking? for stats and human anatomy/physio?
I have a full time permanent position in the department I'm interested in. I decided to wait until I wrote my NCLEX to apply to jobs and found a job after 3 weeks of applying. All my friends have found full time jobs in downtown Toronto hospitals (which is what they wanted) within a month of applying. A few of my friends also had jobs lined up before graduating but that's more rare. I think there are probably people in my class who had more trouble with finding a job but I'm not friends with them so I don't know what circumstances they had. I do have one friend who kept postponing writing the NCLEX and didn't write it until 6 months after we graduated and she also found a full time job on a unit she likes within a month of applying.

You will definitely get into Trent with those marks, I don't know anything about the other 2
Good luck!
Hi everyone,
Does anyone know if there is some kind of policy against accepting at more than one program? I've received more than one acceptance, at UofT and Humber, and the date has come to either accept or decline. It's bad timing, I was hoping to take a tour of one of the schools this upcoming weekend before making a final decision.
I was hoping I could accept my 2 offers for now, then pay the tuition deposit for the program I choose after. However, I'm afraid that accepting more than one offer might automatically cancel the other acceptance. Has anybody been in this position before?
Thanks
Hello, I forgot to mention, I have an international degree B.Sc - 3.5cgpa and MSc degree and i'm going in for the second entry Nursing in York. I really want to apply to only York, Humber college look requirement looks expensive to me as I have to access my degree using wes and also my high school transcript using iqas (left HS over 12years ago). Is having a 1st and 2nd choice uni a compulsion as I have been seeing people applying to over 4uni's.
Secondly can someone give me a strong tip for the York University Second Entry Nursing, I hope to start my 6 preriquisite courses with them as soon as courses are available( or can I start now?) Class of 2019 here.
Hi, what was your bachelor program? Schools only consider your bachelor degree as related marks and courses you took. Ask the schools you are going to apply first because some of them don't need your high school marks. It is expensive and I did same process and you are planning to do. Just one quick reminder Humvee really want you to have English grade 12 mark and it's not equivalent your IELTS mark. Because I have the same problem. I took all my required courses at UNB. It was cheaper than York.

I don't know if you applied as a Western student... but if you did, do you know if we have to submit our transcripts still?
