Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2018

World Canada CA Programs

I'm applying to the second entry nursing program in February 2018 for Fall 2018 admission. I'm applying to York, Humber, Trent, Nipissing and potentially Western. I'll be applying with a BA in psych. This is probably super premature, but I wanted some reassurance from fellow applicants. I also wanted to know if anyone, past or previous applicants, know the weighting of Additional Information forms and how they're considered during the application process? I was diagnosed with ADHD during my second year of university, after being misdiagnosed two previous times, and it's certainly had an impact on my grades. My GPA is going to be something like 6.7 on a 9.0 scale. And this really has me worried. Has anyone else had any experiences with Add. Forms?

Good luck to all!

what school was this offer for?

Humber

"overall" would be referring to cGPA

Oh that could be bad for me because my cGPA is below 3.0, and it would be impossible to raise it even if i got straight A+'s to meet the conditional offer. I'll have to ask admissions to confirm

If it's any consolation I received an offer from Western earlier that expired and I emailed the department if they would be so kind enough as to re-instate my offer - which they did.

I am assuming it's no big deal for you - Just contact the admissions first thing on Monday, explain your situation and they'll most likely send you another offer :)

Ahh... when did you get your Western offer? I've been (im)patiently waiting on mine... even though I've been accepted to Trent and York already...

''Second Entry Preparation program offers students with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 in a minimum of 60 credit hours of university'' - I found that on the Humber website. So maybe the condition means that the last 60 credits along including the most recent semester must be above 3.0gpa. I have the same condition on my account and I just sent my new transcript via ontario colleges to Humber today. Hopefully this satisfies the condition.

Hi everyone, Just wanted to give some of you some hope, I was accepted to U of T this morning with a 79% average in my final year (I don't know what that is in GPA). Still waiting for it to show up on OUAC to accept. I did have quite a lot of research and clinical experience but so do most of you so stay calm!! It is still early! Can't wait to meet you all next year :)

For all those accepted to York who are finishing pre requisites still, what were the conditions of your offer?

Also congrats to all those who've been accepted already :) I've read in previous forums that acceptances go out until mid june!

Received an offer from McMaster yesterday, still waiting on Western!

Congratulations mcpjenn! Would you mind sharing your average/gpa? I'm hoping to get into Mac too but I haven't heard back from them yet :(

Has anyone been accepted to UofT without having submitted their grades for the prereq courses? I have proven enrollment but have not received my final marks

Hello!

I was just offered a conditional acceptance yesterday (I just completed Anatomy II like.. 4 days ago) from UofT. I haven't yet sent in my final grades because they won't be available until mid-May, but my offer states so long as I finish with >60% in that pre-req when I send in my final transcripts, I am good to go. The only thing they had during my application review was proof that I was enrolled in the course at the beginning of this semester.

Hope this helps.

Do you know how they calculate your average if your final year marks are not ready yet?

I'm not 100% sure and would suggest contacting Student Services to double check if you're in the same boat. I'm thinking they likely based it off my first semester marks of this applying year and offered acceptance on the condition I keep it up.
