Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2018

World Canada CA Programs

Published

I'm applying to the second entry nursing program in February 2018 for Fall 2018 admission. I'm applying to York, Humber, Trent, Nipissing and potentially Western. I'll be applying with a BA in psych. This is probably super premature, but I wanted some reassurance from fellow applicants. I also wanted to know if anyone, past or previous applicants, know the weighting of Additional Information forms and how they're considered during the application process? I was diagnosed with ADHD during my second year of university, after being misdiagnosed two previous times, and it's certainly had an impact on my grades. My GPA is going to be something like 6.7 on a 9.0 scale. And this really has me worried. Has anyone else had any experiences with Add. Forms?

Good luck to all!

Not a problem :) If this is still up to date, then I'm pretty sure CPR C is acceptable

Update: Under 'Announcements' it shows CPR-C is acceptable

Awesome! Again, Thank you so much!

My pleasure :)

How many clinical placement hours does Queen's offer? I can't seem to find that information on their site

Did they pause for a bit? Any news is better than no news at this point haha

I dont know for sure but most likely that they are still doing acceptances. It is most likely that the people getting accepted are not on here. But it could be also that majority of the applicants are still finishing up this term and the proper decisions wont be made until Winter 2018 marks are out, which is beyond their control. I'm sure the people getting accepted now is only the minority of the application pool since (from reviewing previous posts) most of them have completed their final year of undergrad already (meaning their transcripts are final and already sent) while most people are probably finishing up fourth year with final marks slowly trickling into their final transcripts.

U of T sends out their acceptances in waves. This is what I was told by a faculty member. I got accepted last year near the end of June so don't stress!

For those who will be going to UofT next year, are we required to complete any prior CPR training before the program starts? Are we suppose to arrange and complete it ourselves or do we worry about that later? Thanks!

Hey! At U of T, the Nursing Undergraduate Society (NUS), which is basically the student council of the program, actually plans CPR classes that you can attend! This would be a good opportunity to meet the right requirements and it allows you to meet your future classmates!

Oh that's great thank you for letting me know! Do you know how I could be informed as to when they would do these classes?

Join the Facebook group, "Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing (U of T) - Class of 2020"! And NUS also sends an email to the faculty to send out to all the incoming students. (:

I just got my conditional acceptance to the University of Toronto about an hour ago!! So emotional!!

To give a bit of context, I am graduating from a BSc this year (first few years were rough... cGPA is a solid 3.0). That being said, I worked my butt off in my last year (3.7) and have participated in a lot of volunteerism over the years (hospitals/palliative hospices, health-related campaigns in the community... lots of work with the vulnerable populations) and was recently accepted to a conference to present my research in public health this past semester.

Congratulations to all that have been accepted already and best of luck to everyone :)

"Proof of Successful Completion of Current Academic Studies at University Level with an Overall Minimum Grade Point Average or 3.0 or 74%". Is this referring to my cGPA or just the current session GPA?

"overall" would be referring to cGPA
