  1. Judging by previous comments they're deciding whether or not I should be placed on the waitlist or not. Considering Brock released the grades so late... I'll probably be so far down the waitlist...
  2. I know how you felt! I called them and Brock released them to OUAC on June 1st. Western received my grades on June 4th. When I called them, they said they have lots and lots of documents to go through, so they said that the final date for hearing from them is June 26th! Let me know if you do get in though. I'm really hoping I get into Western because I honestly can't afford to live in Toronto.
  3. Ahh... when did you get your Western offer? I've been (im)patiently waiting on mine... even though I've been accepted to Trent and York already...
  4. I received my Trent offer letter this afternoon. Still waiting on Western.
  5. During the summer my regional health unit hires on student nurses all the time. They pay them decently well (above minimum) and it's great experience. There's also PSWs as others have mentioned.
  6. Congratulations to you all. :)
  7. I didn't realize that the NCLEX pass rates were available online. It's interesting to see that compressed programs offered a higher NCLEX pass rate than the regular program it seems... (Probably due to the stringent entry conditions and extra years of university.)
  8. Here's to hoping! York wanted me to bump up my Anatomy mark since I took it in first year and didn't meet the requirement. To do this, I'm taking an anatomy course at Brock in the spring. However, since it is an in-person course it will take place Mondays and Wednesdays from 1-5! My summer job would want availability of M-F 7-3. I've emailed York admissions to ask if I could take an online course instead (at Trent) which seems to satisfy those requirements. However, my major qualms with that is the fact that I would have to pay an extra $150 for application fees just to do the one course! At Brock, I've held onto that course for now because I don't have to pay anything extra other than the tuition in the off chance I do get accepted into Western. I do prefer Western anyway due to it being closer to where I live and the rent being cheaper than Toronto (I also have a vehicle that I don't want to part ways with so insurance would be cheaper). Furthermore, my SO is moving back to London and it would be easier for us to see each other. *crosses fingers*
  9. I remember calculating it at 84-85%. I'm really hoping for Western because then it won't interfere with my summer job.
  10. If I don't end up getting into Western maybe I'll see you at York! :)
  11. I'm curious too. I would really prefer Western over York because York is the only school that wants me to retake anatomy which could potentially sabotage my summer job.
  12. If you're doing any pre-reqs, they need to be at least a B level. I would try to aim high though.
  13. It depends on where you work. I know in Canada you're looking at $35 an hour and if you get full time you're living decently well if you don't mind long shifts. Trying to become an NP and if you start your own practice, you're looking at upper middle class.
  14. I've seen a few people post about it in the other thread. I haven't received anything yet.
  15. I have the same thing. I'm assuming it's because you have the prereqs like Anatomy, etc.
