Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2018

I'm applying to the second entry nursing program in February 2018 for Fall 2018 admission. I'm applying to York, Humber, Trent, Nipissing and potentially Western. I'll be applying with a BA in psych. This is probably super premature, but I wanted some reassurance from fellow applicants. I also wanted to know if anyone, past or previous applicants, know the weighting of Additional Information forms and how they're considered during the application process? I was diagnosed with ADHD during my second year of university, after being misdiagnosed two previous times, and it's certainly had an impact on my grades. My GPA is going to be something like 6.7 on a 9.0 scale. And this really has me worried. Has anyone else had any experiences with Add. Forms?

Good luck to all!

I'm currently working on the supplementary application of UofT, where we're required to upload an electronic copy of our transcript within the supplementary application. To past and current applicants/students of the program, would a pdf version of a complete grade report from my university account suffice, or am I required to order a transcript from my university and upload a scanned copy of it?

I am interested for the Second Entry Nursing program too. I would like to know for Queens, do we need to take any pre-reqs courses or supplementary documents? Because I cannot find any information on their website. Thanks!

Hi everyone. I just wanna ask if taking a full course load (5 courses per term) is necessary when applying to 2nd entry programs? Do I place myself at a disadvantage if I only take 4 courses during the second term?

Hi all- wondering if anyone else is having this issue! I am currently taking a multi-term (fall 2017-winter2018) A&P course at Ryerson to fulfill the requirements for the applications. Both programs I am applying to (UofT+Nipissing) need me to submit an official transcript to prove I am currently in this course. I am worried that because it is a multi-term course, it won't show up on my transcript by the application date. Does anyone have experience with this? I saw in a forum from last year, someone had this issue and their app got thrown out so I'm pretty worried... the schools are closed until next week so I can't get in touch yet. If anyone has any thoughts I would appreciate it!

Queens is annoying and all the admission info is in the academic calendar... I remember also struggling to find this info! Its on page 22 https://qshare.queensu.ca/Users01/nursing/public/calendar/Academic_Calendar.pdf

Hi there!

If you send in a transcript -- it will usually say that the course is "in progress". From my experience, this is enough for Nipissing (not sure about UofT), BUT once you are completed the course and grades are released onto your transcript and updated one needs to be sent. As always, call Nipissing or UofT's registar office and they wil more than likey help you

I'm wondering this as well. I don't want to have to order a transcript if I can just provide a PDF of my grade report (because on the application they say it's not an 'official transcript'; which will be submitted via your school).

Also, in terms of the volunteer and academic references (I can't yet go onto that section because I am waiting for my fall grades for this semester to finish the previous section of the app), how are the references supposed to be submitted? (i.e. email via referee directly, hard copy)

PS This is in reference to the UofT compressed program app.

Thanks!!!

Hi guys

I was wondering if anyone is applying as a 2nd year student- it seems like most people here are in their last year of undergrad, so would that make me less likely to be chosen since I have less expereince in school? Thanks!

Hi Seaschel

Would you say that most people in your program have completed an undergrad degree/not just 2-3years?

Thanks!

For references you just have to enter your referee's email address into the portal and UofT will send them an email with instructions on how to submit the reference, so it never goes through you, thats the only information they give us!

Thank you!

In regards to prereqs and the AST program, if it necessary to have Cell Biology, Introductory Chemistry, English, and Mathematics AND the 4 courses listed underneath the specific program? I'm asking because I don't have a course in cell bio and now I'm worried...
