Hello future nursing students,
I just wanted to make a post as we enter the new academic year, and more importantly the next admission cycle. Hopefully through this post we can all share our admission experiences, concerns, and achievements.
To begin with, I am currently a University of Toronto student completing my final year! I am hoping to apply to UBC, UofT, Nipissing, Western, and Trent. Just waiting on applications to open up! I am slightly worried I may not get in because admission is so competitive, and seeing those with 3.9+ not get in can be very scary.
How about you? Are you excited for the new school year? Any concerns for the admission process? Let's get through this together

That makes me wonder about the demographic that UofT has each year.

I got anxious when reading that some applicants were required to submit some sort of personal statement with their application and I just wanted to make sure that Mac and Western didn't require this, right?
I don't think Western requires a personal statement. On the Student Centre website, the to-do listed transcript, Casper, and pre-req form, so you're all good!

no western just wanted you to submit that little sheet where you wrote down the pre req's, they didn't require an actual personal statement but im not sure about Mac I didn't apply there!

The waiting game is so intense but it was such a reassurance to get back Casper results today. Good luck everyone!!
Did you receive an email? or did did it show up on OUAC/Trent Portal?
Hello!
Not sure if this is helpful for others but I have received offers from Humber, Trent, and Nipissing SPP. I'm still waiting on Western and UofT.
I got into UofT last year but due to circumstances I couldn't attend (I missed the email and the offer expired, got put on the top of the waitlist but then due to personal reasons I couldn't go as the waitlist didn't open up for me until the day before classes)
Thought I would share some of my stats: I applied with a 3.7 GPA (final 2 years -84% average), graduating from UofT in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Health Studies. I scored in the fourth quartile for CASPer (75th to 100th percentile), work at TGH emergency as a clerk, and work for CRPO as my full time job. My extra-curriculars are two clubs in undergrad, clinical volunteer experience at UHN, and being a research student at Toronto Rehab (UHN) in my fourth year.
I am between Nipissing SPP and UofT at this point (still waiting to hear back so who knows) but I would appreciate all/any info anyone would like to share about why they would choose one program over the other ?
Best of luck to everyone waiting, this is my third round applying to nursing school so keep your heads up! Acceptances are coming ?

For Mac - it was just CASPer and a form listing your pre-reqs!

Thank you! This is super helpful. I think I like the structure of the SPP program but it is new to me as my undergrad was very lecture based and not a lot of self-directed learning.

Hey, thanks for sharing this! I’m wondering if you would be able share what your U ot T GPA was at the time of your application was (last year of courses) and you applied to any other schools other than U of T and Nipissing? Also, did you have all your U of T prerequisites completed with a grade before you received your U or T offer? Thanks so much for sharing this - super anxious to hear back but this gives me some hope!
