UT Health Pacesetter Summer 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Was waiting for someone else to make this thread, but I'm too anxious!

I am applying for the Summer 2019 application cycle at UT Health Science in Houston.

Stats:

HESI Overall: 92.4

Nursing Pre-req GPA: 3.88

Science Pre-req GPA: 4.0

Cumulative GPA: 3.41

My science Pre-req is excluding Chemistry. I'll be taking that in the Spring along with a few last minute pre-reqs. I have 2 F's in random classes on my transcript from a few year ago when I lost my mode of transportation. Unfortunately that's bringing my cumulative GPA down. Still feel like I have a shot though, so I am applying!

I'll also be applying for UTMB Fall 2019, Lone Star Fall 2019, and reapplying to UT Health Fall 2019 (if need be).

Does anyone notice that on their MyUTH that on the to-do list it says "Due 3/15/18". Isn't that fall deadline?

As for the HESI I bought the HESI admissions assessment book and studied for about a month. The anatomy and physiology portion in that book is not the best in my opinion so I would suggest studying other things. I personally bought another book called "HESI A2 study guide" by trivium and used it only for anatomy and I made a pretty good score on that portion. Also I don't think there is an interview process.

Mine says this too! Thought it was weird but will stick to having everything turned in by 1/15!

I was getting worried.. like did I make a mistake and put Fall 2019 instead of Summer 2019 lol

Not sure if I should retake the HESI again...my cumulative score was an 84.

Reading: 92

Grammar:84

A&P: 80

Math: 84

Vocab: 82

My current GPA is a 3.7

Science GPA: 4.0

Any suggestions?

My honest opinion is that you should retake it. But if you feel you did the best you could on it, you also don't wanna risk getting lower scores. Good luck on whatever you decide!

I wonder if they take the most recent score. If they don't I might take it again as well.

Hi guys! I'm applying for the summer 2019 program as well. I was wondering if I just have to fill out the application or do I have to apply for the school as well.

Heads up, I tuned in to the webinar today and they mentioned that they do not accept any labs taken online. I asked why this was if it was taken at an accredited institution and they said it was "school policy". Was pretty disappointed considering their FAQ states online course work is accepted as long as the institution is accredited. This completely throws off my schedule to apply for Summer since I was going to take it in the upcoming minimester.

Hello regarding the Labs being done online, how would they know you took the lab online. On my transcripts from Dallas Community College for Example BIOL 2420 Microbiology credit hours 4.00 Grade A

Daphane, this is a good question especially because it is DCC that i was looking to take the Chemistry course through.. If it's not too much, would you be willing to call your registrar to see if the transcript reflects as an online course once your transcript is sent to UT? I am not officially a student at DCC yet so idk if they would be able to help me yet!

Does anyone who has taken the HESI have a study guide/book they are no longer using? Willing to buy your used book if it's the one I am looking for or if it helped you score in the high 80s-90s :) let me know!
