UT Health Pacesetter Summer 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Was waiting for someone else to make this thread, but I'm too anxious!

I am applying for the Summer 2019 application cycle at UT Health Science in Houston.

Stats:

HESI Overall: 92.4

Nursing Pre-req GPA: 3.88

Science Pre-req GPA: 4.0

Cumulative GPA: 3.41

My science Pre-req is excluding Chemistry. I'll be taking that in the Spring along with a few last minute pre-reqs. I have 2 F's in random classes on my transcript from a few year ago when I lost my mode of transportation. Unfortunately that's bringing my cumulative GPA down. Still feel like I have a shot though, so I am applying!

I'll also be applying for UTMB Fall 2019, Lone Star Fall 2019, and reapplying to UT Health Fall 2019 (if need be).

Yes, i got an email the next day with log in credentials!

No problem; I'm the same way!

HESI

Overall: 98%

AP: 100

Math: 98

Vocab: 100

Grammar: 100

Reading Comp: 92

Critical Thinking was 950, but I don't think they got that score since I took that separately for another school

Nursing GPA: 4.0

Science GPA: 4.0

Overall GPA: 3.72 (that's like over 2 degrees' worth of stuff from a school that calculates differently. Depending on who calculates, it varies btwn 3.71 and 3.75)

For more comparison, I'm in class with two other people that got in. One had a HESI in the 90s, and the other scored an 88 on the HESI, so there is a pretty wide range of scores.

It does seem to be all over the place so who really knows what the secret formula is to getting in!

I'm trying to take chem in a winter minimester as well but no schools are offering it. Do you mind me asking where you're taking yours?

Thank you!

I just applied to Dallas County Community College last week. They were the only school I found that offered it. It is completely online including the lab! Waiting for them to receive my transcripts so I can register on November 21.

I wonder if any of the exams are in person because if so I couldn't do it because I live in Houston.

From what I read, everything is proctored either from home or a testing center local to you! I am in Houston as well.

Thank you! I think I'm going to take that then.

I'm also looking to apply. I don't have any of the history/government classes done (not from TX originally so this wasn't a requirement for my previous bachelors degree) although I'm registered for next semester. I believe I have enough credits to still apply though after I complete this class that ends in December. I'll also sit for the Hesi after this class as that is a requirement for Austin CC, where I'm also applying. Overall I have about a 3.3 GPA. Not outstanding, but I wonder if they look into previous healthcare experience at all? Probably not, but that would be nice.

I live in Austin and haven't done the webinar or info session. I'm curious if the 4 semesters are consecutive?

There is a section on the app where you fill out your work history, so they may consider it! And from what I've heard yes the 4 semester are consecutive. I signed up online for the webinar that is coming up on Monday so i can report back any pertinent info!

Glad to see I'm not the only one waiting til grades are posted this semester to apply!

Thank you for creating this thread I will also be applying for Summer 2019 how was your experience was the HESI, which I plan on taking in December or the beginning of January. Also is there an interview process?
