UNLV SON FALL 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello everyone! :)

Since the Summer 2018 cohort is about to be announced, I thought I would start the forum for Fall 2018. Who else is applying? I hope the cut off score isn't as high as it was last fall!

Hey all! Wanted to update everyone. I ended up getting an A in micro and I've never been more proud of a grade in my life as this was definitely the HARDEST class I've ever taken. So, if I did the math correctly, I'll be applying with 98.3 points. Can't wait to meet some of you at the signing session!

Congrats!! No doubt you'll get into the program :)

After finishing micro, I think I'll be applying with somewhere around 94 points (assuming I do well on my HESI). That number makes me suuuper anxious, so I'm hoping I can somehow pull off a cumulative score of 100 hahah

I'm so glad I took it last semester. But don't worry, it's really nothing to worry too much about! I'm sure you'll do fine and good luck!

Holy crap, I got an A in micro too!!!!! 98.4 points is what I'll be applying with. í ½í¸

Hey guys - I'll be applying with 94.38 points in the fall. Yes, you heard right I have the EXACT same amount of points for the cutoff last fall!

My thing is that I'm a 2nd degree student and I got a C in college algebra in 2007 and a W in Micro, so I'm down 2 points there. I got a really good score (high 90s) on my Hesi, retook it and got the exact same score, haha. I have a solid A in all my courses except a B in AP2, so this is the only way I can increase my score.

Advisors say last fall was a fluke, so hopefully it doesn't increase and drops a tad!

Thank God, I got an A in Micro too!! :) I'm around 95 points right now, but I'm going to retake the HESI to see if I can increase my score to around 96 or 97. You know, try to get on your guy's level, haha!

@living2learn Aww, man! That's a bummer! I think they shouldn't count classes against you that you took so long ago and just give you a chance to start fresh. I think you have a good score and if it is true that last fall was a fluke, you should be fine! The only thing is that since they added the 0.5 Rebel Recognition, I anticipate the cut off rising a bit, maybe to be truly 94 or high 93s. Who knows! That's the struggle here! Also, how was the HESI when you retook it? Was it the same level of difficulty? Did you notice some questions that were on version 1?

Congrats on getting an A in Micro! I loved that course.

Yeah, everyone I spoke to or have read says last fall was a fluke, but the addition of Rebel Regognition doesn't work in my favor. I transferred in and only took 3 courses at UNLV.

As for the HESI, I found the first attempt to be slightly easier. I saw a handful of the same questions (maybe 10-15 throughout the entire test). My A&P and Reading was slightly tougher the second time, Grammar & Math were slightly tougher the first time. IMO, the reading is by far the toughest part and the one I scored lowest on each time. (92 and 90 respectively).

One thing I noticed for the Math is that I was only given one algebra question each time, but it's weighed a little heavier than other questions. So make sure to get that one correct.

GOOD LUCK! From what I've heard, no one has scored higher on their second HESI attempt. It's scary and hopefully this can motivate you to study harder!

I got my A in anatomy, so I am currently sitting at 95.24 points... I am hearing a lot of people that are applying with 98's so I am super nervous...

Same here! I'm at 94.38. But there are 48 spots, so here's hoping to the 98'ers save some room for us!

How many 98s are we talking here? Lol I can't be getting too nervous now

Dead. I literally laughed out loud, haha!! You will be totally fine, FutureCRNA1224. I think if you're anywhere in the 98s, you have nothing to be worried about. :)

But I am curious, how many people with 98s (excluding the 2 on here) have you heard are applying, Aprilie22? And congrats on getting an A!
