UNLV SON FALL 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Hello everyone! :)

Since the Summer 2018 cohort is about to be announced, I thought I would start the forum for Fall 2018. Who else is applying? I hope the cut off score isn't as high as it was last fall!

I have to wait until the 22nd! But when you guys go, can you please tell us how many people were in your session? Let's try to keep a tab on how many people are applying - give or take, of course! Lol.

There were 9 people in my signing session. One person did not show up.

Aprilie22, what did you do at the signing session? Does it take the full hour?

It did not take take full hour. It all depends on when you get called up to sign, and then you can go home. If you are not called until the end, then you might be there a little longer!

Do they give any information, or is it literally just signing saying you are applying?

So they don't confirm with you how many points you're applying with? It's literally like you sit in a room with others applying and as Rebel_Alliance said, you just sign? Did you talk to the others that were there or was everyone so intense? haha

So, the advisor took about 15 minutes to go over the rules of applying and what would happen if we are accepted with the contract signing and orientation. Then you literally just sit and wait to be called up to sign, after which you immediately simply leave. Our advisor did not go over the points and told us this was something we should have done on our own time. I am not sure if other advisors will do the same or not. As for the people in the room, everyone was pretty uptight until we were told we could talk to one another, however, no one wanted to talk about their points lol I was hoping someone would, but i guess everyone was too scared being the first signing session and all. There were quite a few transfers though! No wonder they are giving us half a point for having most credits taken at UNLV. Still barely helps though...

So I did the Thursday signing session (6/7), and it was the exact same thing lol. No one wanted to talk and seemed very uptight and awkward. I watched Top Model to pass the time lol. 11 people were there and 1 did not show up. Now just have to wait the tortuous month to see if we got in

Specializes in Cardiothoracic ICU.

I'm going tomorrow - someone talk to me there! Haha.

What were your stats?

I applied with 98.38 points. 96% overall on HESI and all As in my pre reqs with an A- in Nurs 299. I did not get the .5 points from the Rebel Recognition thing

FutureCRNA1224,

I am like 90% positive I was sitting next to you today. You were sitting next to the wall on my right hand side, correct? I was talking to the guy right next to us on my left. You had your earbuds in and I didn't want to be rude and disrupt you....

But, yes, that WHOLE room was very awkward. No one talked to anyone (except myself and 1 other) and everyone was so consumed with their phones.

I ended up being the second to last person in the room, so I was there for the whole hour. It was SO. BORING. The first week of July cannot come soon enough!!!

If I were going tomorrow, I'd talk to you! :)

I ended up applying with a 98.9 overall. I have A's in all pre-req's, scored a 95 on the HESI, and was given the 0.5 extra for Rebel Recognition.
