I applied in September for the GEP/FNP program I wanted to know if anyone got an interview yet?

I applied to family!

Maybe they are taking longer to reach out to family track applicants? Did anyone who get accepted already apply family?

Hi melodeeya! I was accepted to the family track weeks ago. From what I've seen on this thread, around 3-4 people were accepted to family already and only 1 for acute care. Good luck!

Thanks FinallyANurse89! I actually landed an interview for January 25th! I work at the hospital, so I just went down to the GEP office and asked about the status of my application. They were really nice about it. I wonder when they were planning on giving me a call, if I had not asked lol.

Any tips for the interview/what should I expect? I heard that you meet with a student and get a tour of the school?

Does anyone know how much is the total cost of the family program? Bec on the website says it's 86000 but I keep on hearing different numbers

Hi everyone! This is my first time posting on this discussion board and I can't believe some people have already been accepted! Congrats to those who did--I guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed. Does anyone know how many people they typically accept? I applied to the FNP track on 12/1. I think I'm a good applicant. The only thing that makes me nervous is that I'm not done with my prereqs...

Hey Kevin,

I'm out of state so mine will be the most expensive choice. The cost of the first year is separated from the DNP cost. The cost of my first year will be 54,000 plus fees, then the DNP program cost will be at most $1,080/credit hr x 74 credits for Acute (77 for FNP) plus fees. Keep in mind if it is a class offered online the credit hour drops to around $780. The highest total will be around $133,920 not including fees minus scholarships, if any.

The benefit of the program is that you are allowed to work after the first year and even if it's part time (20hr) x starting salary (30-35/hr) for four years you would put a huge dent in the cost of the program at around $100,000. In my case, leaving $33,920 plus fees minus scholarships in loans plus amount for cost of living expenses.

It's kind of a balancing act as base pay of DNP will be close to the same as amount borrowed for my situation, which is most frequently drilled into my head "never borrow more than your starting salary".

I would love to hear if any GEP-2 know the starting salary of the RN portion of the program...
