Hi,
I applied in September for the GEP/FNP program I wanted to know if anyone got an interview yet?
I also had my interview with Jill yesterday.
All standard questions:
Tell me about yourself....always dread this one
Why do you want be a nurse (FNP)/why not just nurse?
Why now?
What skills do you currently posses that will help in the program?
Tell me about a time when you were a leader/do you see yourself as a leader?
Why UMass/Massachusetts?
Do you have a plan B?
Have you applied to other schools/programs?
Tell me about a difficult situation you've had to deal with in the past and what did you learn from it?
Academically, how have you dealt with not getting the grades you've wanted and what did you learn?
Where do you see yourself 5 years after graduating?
What resources will you have coming into the program? (I had to ask if she meant financially or supportwise)
Situational Scenario - you're at busy at work, stressed and overwhelmed and your boss gives you more work, how would you handle the situation?I
I think this covers the majority of them. I had also planned on setting my phone next to me to record but they called me 10 minutes earlier than scheduled and they threw me off my game plan.
Jill was great to talk to and we had a couple of laughs during the interview - I hope thats a good sign.
We also spoke for over 40 mins...I have no idea how long the interview was supposed to last.
She did say she'd be presenting the students to the board/committee on Jan 18 and (if there isnt some winter storm) we'd hear back from Diane by Monday Jan 22, 2018.
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!!
Has anyone gotten in that has applied for acute care track? I applied for the Dec 1st deadline and haven't heard a peep yet. It's so nerve wrecking. Thanks to those that have been helpful regarding the interviews! :)
Yes I did get accepted to acute care track. I applied Nov 1 and found out about the decision two weeks before xmas. Hope you found out soon and we are in the track together! Best of luck :)

Congrats on a great interview! I interviewed yesterday as well and it was the same standard questions. I was also asked for examples of leadership and a time when I stood up for someone else. Overall I think it went well!
Did you hear when they will release admission decisions for the people who interviewed yesterday?
