Has anyone applied for UCSF's MSN program for fall of 2015?

No, but I'm looking at a post MSN Acute Care NP certificate program there.

I have! It's only been a week since the priority deadline and I'm still so nervous 😳 I'm going to the information session tonight even though I already applied hoping they'll share some information on when we can expect to hear back this year.

I did! Very nervous. Good luck to all! I've been reading over this thread from last year, which I found helpful.

But it also seems to imply 1) that each program/specialty track sends out acceptances/regrets at different times, ranging from March something-teenth to the last week of April, and 2) that last year applicants submitted their minors at time of application, and that this affected admissions decisions. I went to the January info session and they said accepted students would not need to declare any minors until enrollment.

Which tracks did you guys apply to?

I applied to the PMHNP program. What about everyone else? Is this your first time applying?

I am applying to the PMHNP program for the first time.

I applied to the WHNP/CNM program. I called and was told to expect to hear back in April. April seems so far away! This is my first time applying. I have heard rumors about many people having to apply twice before getting accepted. Has anyone heard this as well?

This is my first time applying, too. I am trying for adult-gero acute care NP.

I have not personally heard of people applying twice, but the thread I referenced in a previous post seems to imply that it's not that uncommon. It also seemed to suggest that some applicants get waitlisted in March/April and then got offered a spot in May/June.

One of my coworkers finished the adult CNS program at UCSF about 3 years ago but only applied once and got in. I also have 2 coworkers who got into the UCSF MEPN program; one completed it and one dropped out after passing the NCLEX and started working as a staff nurse. :-\

My application status only says "Completed" and has this entire time. It doesn't say "in process" or "under review" or the like, even though I got an e-mail saying that it is under review. Anyone else have this?

Mine says the same thing - "Completed" and I got an automated email saying it was submitted, is complete and is now under review by the admissions committee. I'm wondering if we won't see any change until after they send out admission decisions for the MEPN class this year (assuming they won't work on ours until after that is all done with).

Do you guys know of the people who got it in the past was there any common factor in their applications? I read in last year's thread for MSN that experience with underserved populations seemed to have the most emphasis on it. Also, since the MSN program has rolling admissions I heard that some of the 'top' applicants who applied by the priority deadline ( February 2nd this year) will hear first and then as more and more applications come in they will then make the rest of the decisions based on the complete pool of applicants. So technically some people could hear March and others not until

April for the same speciality. Has anyone else heard of this?

I received the same email. I haven't heard about accepted applicants having any one thing in common. I know many people who applied to the MEPN program (a few years back) but not the regular MSN. From what I've seen, MEPN is quite competitive. I'm sure the MSN programs are too but hopefully less so.

Has anyone noticed any changes under their status yet? Mine still just says "Application complete". I would think it would change to "Under review" or something, right?

I checked mine a few hours ago too today. Still unchanged. Completed / Submitted in all fields. :-/

It's reassuring to know that you all have the same status still too though! :D
