Nursing Students School Programs

Anyone else applying to San Jac Spring 2019? Application dates are August 6, 2018 - October 8, 2018.

My rubric is currently 17 but I am in the middle of APII and taking Micro in the fall; that's an additional 2-6 points. HESI is 90.4.

I am applying for Spring 2019 in Central campus. Only thing I am concerned about is getting health insurance. Its not open enrollment until November.

Still no one? I'll be a shoe-in then. ;)

Has anyone ordered Titer tests online? I saw a few online places and you would take the orders to Quest. Are those legit?

Hi ellexchung! We have to have and maintain insurance once the program starts, but it doesn't say you need to have insurance when applying. I wouldn't think insurance would be an issue as long as you are covered once class starts.

Hi, I also plan to apply to the ADN program for Spring 2019, and I am also wondering about the health insurance part. I did email the department and can let you guys know as soon as I get an email back!

Hi. I'm also applying to the nursing program for spring 2019. My rubric score is a 20. But I'm retaking the Hesi again and hopefully it'll bump me up to a higher score. Do you guys have any tips on what materials you used and how to study for the hesi?

The north campus has posted their application dates and information meeting times. Good luck to all of you who have already applied and/or who will be applying!

Thanks, IAmNurseMel! Are you applying?

There was a post with detailed advice on how to study for HESI and links to grammar, math, etc help. I don't remember where though.

Thanks, IAmNurseMel! Are you applying?

No problem! I actually applied for the Fall 2018 cohort and got accepted after being selected as an alternate. I'll be starting the program in August!

That's awesome! Congratulations! Are you at Central or North campus? I just registered for CastleBranch and have appointments for titers and drug tests this week.

Do you know how to get a blue card? Will that come after the background check?

Thank you, I'll be attending the north campus. You'll receive the blue card in the mail after you complete your fingerprinting and your background cones back clear. Once you're accepted or selected as an alternate, the school sends a roster of names to the Texas Board of Nursing. TBON then sends a blue card to the people's whose fingerprints are on file and a fast pass fingerprinting email to the people who need to be fingerprinted.
