PLU ELMSN 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Just wanted to start a thread, it was really helpful last year while applying (I got waitlisted but wasn't selected). Anyway, it was a great way to keep each other updated with how the process works and when interviews/selections/emails started to come from the school, a nice sounding board for going crazy with impatience waiting, waiting, waiting. I am applying for the 2018 entry into the ELMSN program at PLU and hope to submit my app within a week or two.

How did you like the first year??

Waiting

I wish everyone the best of luck in the application process. Today I unfortunately received notification that I was denied admission. Hopefully everyone sleeps better if they did not get an email.

I'm so sorry. Keep trying, I still am, I didn't get in last year.

Thanks girl, I needed that.

Hello! Thank you for being patient with me, I know that I have been MIA lately on this forum. :)

I am now in my first Fall semester of the pre-licensure portion of the program. Hmmm, I have mixed feelings about this program. I love what I have been learning. I am stressed out because of how fast-paced it is. Yes it is rough! Every week is filled with either a quiz or test. I love everyone in my cohort and most professors are very friendly with questions.

The most frustrating thing about the program is the disorganization with the policies, syllabus and clinical placement. There are some people are VERY annoyed of it and has been addressing them to the faculty. This problem is not new though. When I was on last year's forum, someone from the 2016 cohort has talked about it before.

I hope that was helpful. Let me know if you have more questions. I promise that I will check back more often

Thanks for the feedback. I hope things get a little smoother for you. It's great to hear details though.

Submitted my app back in the beginning of November (around the 10th I believe). I'm finishing up my last pre-req right now (microbio) but had everything else completed/turned in.

Does anyone know if the fact that I have to update my application with my grade after finals (next Tuesday) means that my applicatuon is no longer considered done within the priority deadline?

I'm just nervous and wanting to hear back lol.

There also seems to be a thought that there won't be interviews this year like there were last year? I'm fine either way, just curious.

Good luck to everyone!

I'm sorry you got denied this year Definitely keep on trying though. Was it an email or a physical letter? I'm scared something will go to spam so I'm trying to set up a filter to catch any/everything. Was it from NursingCAS or PLU?

Hey, I believe you are fine. You are allowed to submit your app while still finishing up a prereq. It talks about it somewhere on their site, or just call grad admissions for peace of mind. They are super helpful and nice.

Email from Ms. Wheeler whom is graduate admissions specialist. I knew my application was a long shot for many reasons I won't go into but it's speculative that it was such a quick turn around which was three days including weekend after deadline. According to their website all applications are reviewed fully as a whole group after priority deadline.
