Pikes Peak Community College ADN Program Chances

Nursing Students School Programs

The applications for Fall of 2018 will be coming in soon and I wanted to gauge my chances of getting into the program. I've heard things like "My friend had a 4.0 and didn't get in" and I'm wondering if that's truth or myth. I have a few friends who have gone through the program but I wanted to ask your opinion. My prerequisite GPA is a 3.79 and at the end of Spring Semester I will have an Associates in General Studies which means I get +2 points. Or so I've been told. So I guess that means 39 points? Is this enough to make me competitive?

Do you guys have any advice in general on applications to any schools in Colorado?

I appreciate your answers and advice! Thank you so much!

It's a very competitive program but I think you'll be fine since you'll have those extra two points. My pre-req GPA is also 3.7 (an A in all except the B in Micro. Sigh.) and I didn't get in for this Spring semester. It's frustrating they don't take your TEAS score into account as long as you get at least average because I got a 92 and was pretty dang proud of it. I'm applying again for Fall '18 to PPCC and I have my app in for Pueblo CC as well. Good luck to you! :)

Hi,

I know it's been a couple months since you commented but I just wanted to say I got a B in Microbiology as well! I'm retaking it this summer just in case I don't get in during Fall semester. Although, if I get into the nursing program, I'll definitely be dropping it. I heard that if there's a few spots left and there's someone with the same GPA as you, they'll look next at your TEAS score. I remember hearing it from one of the nursing counselors. Good luck to you! I hope you get into a nursing program!
